I know there are more pressing issues for the people of FL and we can keep them in our prayers, just thought I'd add some fallout in the football world.

But, but Ron the great shut down businesses in Tampa. People could not even get prescriptions. He took away freedom by not allowing people back on property after leaving area. All because he trusted faulty science.

On Monday, national forecasters predicted Tampa Bay’s century long streak of hurricane luck was about to end.

One forecaster called the storm a “potential historic catastrophe.” The region was looking at 10 feet of storm surge. Billions in property damage. Untold destruction, unmitigated catastrophe.

Two days later, the disaster has arrived — for Tampa Bay’s neighbors about 75 miles to the south. Once again, the forecasters in the federal government were unable to perfectly nail the track of a major hurricane.

And what would you have said if he didn't listen to the experts? Perhaps he should have vacationed in Tuscany like NJs governor did during a state of emergency?

That analogy will work better if he keeps Florida shut down for the next year or two because “there are more hurricanes coming and we must stay diligent until we can develop a powder to sprinkle on the clouds to make hurricanes stop.”

It's starting to look like our game may have showers before but possibly clearing up by game time. These forecasts out a few days are pretty fluid.

Just near a mask that will keep us safe.

..or taking off to Mexico like Ted? Can't accept that your party sucks, perhaps even more than Ds.

I would have guessed fantasyland
Naah, fantasyland is people who support dopes like this, most likely you.

In 2013, Ron DeSantis voted against federal aid for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Joe's response:

“We’ll be there to help you clean up and rebuild, to help Florida get moving again,” President Joe Biden said Wednesday. “And we’ll be there every step of the way. That’s my absolute commitment to the people of the state of Florida.”

DeSantis has requested Biden grant a Major Disaster Declaration for all 67 of the state’s counties, which would open a range of federal assistance.

DeSantis voted against a bill that would provide $9.7 billion in flood insurance aid for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The Category 3 storm, which was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 hurricane season, inflicted nearly $70 million in damage.

Why would we pay 100x higher in aid than the damages? Perhaps the statement from DeSantis at the time would inform us.

“The problem with the Sandy package was, if you look at it, only 30% of it was going to be spent in the first two years,” DeSantis told the St. Augustine Record in a June 2013 interview. “It actually appropriated money out to 2020 and 2021, things that could not in any way be said to be emergency spending. It just was so much extraneous stuff.”

I'm sure everyone is shocked that liberals are dishonestly slandering DeSantis but also that liberals had attempted a huge money grab over 100x more than the storm damages in that 2013 bill.

False equivalencies from the delusional

You are a buffoon. 70m? It was 70b dingus. Let the records shows the true delusional liars here. There is nothing left to say with R liar brigade. There are no facts as usual. Make it up

I live in Northeast so no help needed. Love pointing out hypocrisy of the R echo chamber BS that exists on this blog. Free-dumbbb, Ron.
well, if you live in the northeast, I'd bet you don't have access to or stay abreast of all the news and weather forecasts coming out in florida. If you did, you'd know that up until hours before the hurricane hit, the NWS prediction was TAMPA. Given the logistics of moving people, Desantis call was right on target. If you want to second guess someone, second guess the NWS predictions. Aren't they part of the federal government?
Bu the way Desantis is the governor of FLORIDA, not the northeast. If floridians have a problem with his decisions, we have the opportunity to vote him out in just 5 weeks. So far though, through the pandemic and after, most of us think he has done a stellar job in protecting us and keeping florida free from some of the crazier "scientific" decisions pushed by Dr Fauci and some of the governors of the northeast.
So, while I'm not sure of the "hypocricy" you like to point out", best you let us people deal with the governors decisions here and you take care of your governor's decisions in the northeast.

Only on this board can a thread about game changes from the hurricane get hijacked into politics.

Everything is political these days. State of emergency with life and death consequences = opportunity to attack your political opponent even if they are doing an amazing job saving lives. Welcome to 2022 where political power is all that matters and the sheep are easily mislead.

We have been living politics on this board since the Sandusky fiasco. It’s all politics.

He shut down pharmacies/ business on Monday, told people they could not come back after leaving area and path moved from Tampa Monday night. My father lives there and b*tched about evacuation gestapo and loss of rights. He is a Trumpie. Fauci was appointed at Covid task force by Trump..fact. Try to blame Ds though. You never shut up about blue state governors during pandemic..take your own advice
