Lou Anna Simon to be prosecuted for lying to police about knowledge of MSU pedophile Larry Nassar

Would be wonderful if she got convicted with some actual prison time and not a slap on the wrist. Do not know Michigan law, but if there is a public employee retirement forfeiture statute similar to PA's then I hope she qualifies for forfeiture!

Michigan law provides for the forfeiture of public employee retirement benefits paid by the State into the retirement fund if a member or retiree is convicted of or enters a guilty plea to a felony that is related to their service as a public employee. The confiscated funds cannot be used to pay restitution.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! I suppose it's petty and it's being less than the person I strive to be.... but damn, I just cannot help it.

No it's not petty. We've all heard what she said. We also saw how MSU's football program took advantage of the situation and earned itself many millions of dollars and respect and accolades in the big ten power vacuum that ensued. They of course also enjoyed Penn State's share of its bowl money for a few years. They enriched themselves off our of scandal. Only ohio state got more out of our suffering (a national championship for which they of course had to cheat us to win)

Now it's time for MSU's leadership to pay the price for their own sexual assault cover-up scandal. Unfortunately for them, this scandal is very real, with real victims, real crimes, real evidence... lots of evidence of the very real coverup.

I want this hypocritical thieving lying bitch to pay! And I'm going to enjoy watching it! And I'm not ashamed to admit! We live in a terrible world and terrible things happen every day. I wish it never happened but it did. And they're going to pay for it.

I am in no way happy to see this happen because of what it is - I’ve called out plenty of people for reveling in child abuse to get one over on Penn State.

That said, I hope they read her comments about Penn State into the record at her trial and/or sentencing. To pontificate the way she did with this kind of actual on campus, employee based abuse occurring under her nose...

Hey lou anna, When Joe Paterno learned about the observations that were reported to him, he reported that information to the athletic director and the business manager and then got out of the way, just what the ncaa advises now. That was in 2011. Yet in 2018 you lied to the police? After what you had to say about Penn State, your actions are incredibly stupid!

It’s so easy to sit upon a pedestal and judge everybody from on high. But if you’re going to do that you better damn well make sure your own house in clean.
I hope she gets what she deserves, whatever exactly that may be.

A lot of her transgressions, but not all, happened after Sandusky. Perhaps if she cared about the victims she would have paid attention to the Paterno's report.

Perhaps a good time to revisit this article:

Link: Lou Anna Simon's downfall . . .

"From an institutional standpoint, Ridpath said, the Nassar scandal is actually worse than what happened at Penn State. Nassar was a MSU doctor abusing patients at a MSU clinic, while Sandusky was a retired coach whose victims had little relationship with the university."

"Just in sheer numbers, Nassar was worse, and there were many more checks and balances" that were violated in the Nassar case, Ridpath said."
