Him and his staff seem to freeze in critical moments. He talks about coaching aggressively but there is a huge difference between aggressive and smart. Right now IMHO he doesn't coach smart. Leaving last year aside and all the clock management issues aside it seems whenever they get in a critical situation they are unprepared or scared of the situation at hand. To wit: the whole sequence where they kicked the FG at the 1.5 yard line on 4th down struck me as losing football.

Your trying to steal a game. Your at home , your an underdog and you have nothing to lose. You just kicked a FG in the Red Zone to get within one score. You are now presented with your chance to potentially steal the game and have the momentum and the crowd all going your way. You choose to run on 3rd down which I'm fine with but if your going to run on 3rd down you do so with the expectation that if you gain reasonably positive yards your going for it on 4th down and you have a play all set up for that call. If you don't get it, you don't get it but a least you went down swinging. As soon as they lined up for a FG you swung Mo back to Michigan and still kept it a one score game which totally defeats the purpose of kicking the previous FG to make it a one score game. To me it was a losers call, it's not like they were playing for a National Championship or had better personnel. They were trying to steal a game and give his players and staff something to feel good about not to mention confidence. All the air got sucked out of the team and the stadium after that. Love the guy buy he has a lot to work on in understanding the pulse of his team and game situations come cruch time.
