Mark May out at BSPN***

Maybe that's why Mark May advocated for PSU to make the playoffs, he knew he was gone...

Let's see how quickly he gets picked up, what with all his brings to the table.

Have you ever listened to Marky May? I have. F' him.
Yeah, I think he is a douche and don't agree with 99 percent of what comes out of his mouth.

I have also been laid off for no cause and understand how difficult that can be. As an American I don't like to see it, regardless of whether I like the person.

With all due respect, he should have at least $10,000,000 stashed away from his playing days and his ESPN days. He s/b fine.....if he isn't, he should look in the mirror as to who to blame.

As someone who thinks Mark May was a sub par player and an infinitely worse broadcaster, I would debate that figure.

Regardless, losing your job because your company sucks is never something to celebrate IMO.

I respect anyone who works a job for a living, irrespective of whether I agree with them philosophically or not.

I hate the company and mark may. I think a lot of us do. Eff all of them. Mark may should have lost his job either way. He sucks at what he does. If you want to shed a tear for him cause you got fired years ago, have at it.

Well he was an outstanding college player and a very good NFL player.....an All-American in college and started approx 150 professional games. So I'm glad you're not my talent scout.

As far as your opinion of him as a broadcaster, I'm in complete agreement. IMHO he should have been let go years ago.

It was people like May who made the company suck. He was bad at what he did, it's that simple.

Mark May isn't going to struggle to make his mortgage payments. Guy has a 7 figure net worth unless he has "habits" of some sort that impact his wallet. Sorry, not comparable with blue/white collar layoffs of everyday shmucks like us. Thus- no pity.

He was a vindictive and biased individual, who took every opportunity he could to make Penn State look bad. He had a big, loud, pulpit, and he never failed to use it. I have zero pity for him losing his job.

Well said, Lurker. Though they are not my favorite team, I have always liked the Washington Redskins, and I had great respect for the "Hogs" of which May was one. So, it's not like I never appreciated and liked the guy.

ESPN, in the early part of this century, started transitioning to wise-guy, snarky commentators. Stuart Scott--rest his soul--was one of them. Yet, when he passed, it was made out to be that a heroic figure had left us. That "style" was now the ESPN "style."

So, you have these personalities who want to be noticed. Mark May was one of them. Getting rid of him was treating a symptom. The disease continues.

Drunk? Really? Never heard that one before. Maybe the lawsuit potential kept his job. Where'd you hear that one?
