"Mark Schwartz, ESPN...."

at that point, commence projectile vomiting
What a ludicrous (and entirely predictable) line of questioning at a Football Coaches pre-game press conference

CJF handled it appropriately.......but I'm sure he wanted to tell Schwartz to go bugger himself

(Would have been a good time for Ziegler to chase down Schwartz .....and give him the business over the Syracuse situation)

Actual QUOTES from Mark Schwartz......this IS NOT an Onion-esque parody:

_______________________________

"Here is how I look at it: First of all, it was only one man's account, and secondly, the tape itself was supplied to us. It was not as if we were party to recording it, vetting it, knowing how it was made, who was on the other end of the phone call. We had never met Laurie Fine. We didn't know her voice. And it was not a perfect recording, either. It was a little scratchy and you could hear it, but you had to strain to hear exactly what was said. We had to sweeten the audio quality to make sure we understood the words better."

Schwarz, the reporter who broke the story and first interviewed Davis back in 2003 says he believes the network has handled the situation correctly, despite the criticism they've received.

"I think the problem with people that react to any story of this nature, including Jason Whitlock and Jim Boeheim, is these are the types of stories that are difficult to fathom. We don't understand sexual child abuse as a culture and so when people do come forward, which is so very unusual, often the reaction is, 'That guy must be looking for money. That guy is looking for attention.'"

He wanted to get James Franklin to say something so he could sensationalize it. I guarantee he was literally sent to try to make something out of this.

I don't envy Coach Franklin. He doesn't make decisions like if or when to honor a former coach or player, including Joe. I guarantee that he does not want to comment on Joe and I'll bet he's been told that he should not comment on him. It would only draw criticism no matter what he said. He did the right thing, which was to reiterated that he's already addressed Joe in his very first press conference when he was hired and that he's here to prepare his team for the next game, and that's it.
