combined the women's gymnastic meet with the match. I've seen everything now. At least you can check out some nice asses during the boredom of the wresting match. I wonder if they told that loud mouth idiot not to show up....I didn't hear him during the 30 seconds I tuned in.

Poor coach McCoy.

No I haven't - but I haven't watched too many matches at lower tier programs that didn't involve PSU where that wouldn't happen.

Maryland has done that before. I think the last time they were on BTN it was a joint wrestling/gymnastics match. Nothing like watching wrestling while listening to floor exercise music ...

Not quite as good as an outdoor wrestling match before a football game.

Will PSU ever do that ? They would probably break the Iowa attendance record, no ?

Third year in a row Maryland did beauty and the beast. Only place I knew did it. There is absolutely no buzz for the Maryland wresting team around here. Even though they have great facilities and a decent coach.

They will. Cael said it's on his mind. there are a host of things to consider when doing it. Weather being one of them. Opponent as basically a first match is another. Do you charge or ride off football tickets...

Rutgers wrestled Princeton mid November in the morning, 11am of the Penn St night game. They charge $10 or 15 separate admission . Got about 17,000, beautiful day, and was a very close match. Big Success.

Next season Ru will wrestle Maryland at Yankee Stadium about 6 hours before the RU-Maryland Football game. For this , the football ticket let's you in for both events.

Obviously, Iowa's match against Ok St was a very big success as well.

PSU would have to do it in November when the wrestling season is beginning, before the Home Football games are done, obviously.

Brown, West Virginia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Boise State, and Iowa State have all done it. Some high schools have as well.

Pitt should try it -- womens' gymanstics and football. Would at least triple attendance at Heinz Field.

Just saying, but is it possible to go wrong by adding a group of college gymnastic co-eds to any function?

Took my granddaughters to PSU, BYU, Bowling Green and Temple meet yesterday. PSU won, beating BYU by less than 0.5 points.

I've heard of multiple higher-up D2/D3 schools doing this. It's kind of a cool event, in -person, unless the seating/setup is messed up.

Appears that in today's (1/15) Nebraska - Michigan dual, @ Nebraska, on BTN, there's a women's gymnastics event going on at the same time. I'm pretty sure that PSU W Gymnastics is competing @ Nebraska today.

Yeah, it is PSU competing @ Nebraska. Nebraska marketed it as Tumble & Rumble. BTN did a wide-angle shot of the arena at the end of one of the matches. The wrestling mat is at one end of the arena, the gymnastics floor exercise mat is in the center of the arena, and the other gymnastics apparatus is in the other end of the arena. The endless screaming from teammates and fans during gymnastics routines is annoying, to say the least. Plus, due to needing all the floor space the fans are only in the upper level. Hope we never see something like this at PSU.

BTW, Micic of Michigan defeated Montoya. Berger (Nebraska) just pinned Murphy (Michigan) and acted liked he just won the National Championship. Also, after each match they give the Nebraska wrestler a couple of t-shirts, and they get to throw them into the stands. Berger took his t-shirts and ran over to the BTN booth, and gave the shirts he had to Jim Gibbons and Tim Johnson. ;)
