interesting pic in the article, healthy looking sea anemones and clown fish in the picture they show.
Okay. So?interesting pic in the article, healthy looking sea anemones and clown fish in the picture they show.
dont you think its ironic? I would have thought that an article about coral bleaching would have shown some pictures of bleached out coral, not perfectly healthy marine life, perhaps I missed something.Okay. So?

and my point is this, why not connect to a stock picture of coral bleaching, they are not hard to find. You're missing that this is a thinly veiled global warming article based on an instagram post by a guy (expert probably) flying around in a plane taking videos.
This is not for or against global warming. My point is that the author really did nothing but find an instagram post and connect it with a stock picture.

Good news. The Great Barrier Reef is back!

They do that all the time. Headline a story about a Rattle snake bite and show a Copperhead or something else.interesting pic in the article, healthy looking sea anemones and clown fish in the picture they show.
Good news! The ice caps are growing!I don't believe you. Next thing you will tell me is the artic ice got bigger.
I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but it's too bad we didn't invest trillions in 2009 otherwise Al Gore could take credit for solving the climate emergency.Heretic.

If your point is the reef is recovering you’re dead wrong. Try reading the link you posted. It’s full of data about warming oceans, acidification and permanent coral loss. It takes centuries for coral reefs to recover, not years.Good news. The Great Barrier Reef is back!

They’re probably talking about the actual ice mass which is on a permanent downward trend and the first ever rainfall (in known history) in central Greenland a few months ago.Wonder why they're not talking about this wonderful news at the UN climate change summit in NY?
And here I thought this thread had Swedish Bikini Team potential.
Well, nature adapts and does what nature does. Us humans still have little evidence of how climate cycles affect nature long term. I am not saying man made / natural climate change is not a factor, but adaptable on all species is unknown. They’re probably talking about the actual ice mass which is on a permanent downward trend and the first ever rainfall (in known history) in central Greenland a few months ago.

Except that we are currently in the middle of the biggest mass extinction event (and it is due to human activity) since the asteroid hit the Yucatan. There is no amount of natural adaption that can compensate for what has already happened in the last 150 years.Well, nature adapts and does what nature does. I didn’t make a prediction. Simply reporting on what’s already happening and reality. The number of extinctions in the last 150 years can’t be undone and coral reefs do take centuries to develop.50 years of failed eco-pocalyptic predictions

With all the global warming, let's hope some of them are able to move to a middle class lifestyle away from the coasts.I never know quite what to believe with this stuff but I'm pretty sure of one thing. CO2 emissions will continue to grow regardless of what we do in the U.S. and western europe. Those two countries have more than a billion people that will be moving from poverty to a middle class lifestyle in the next few decades. That means they'll want to drive cars, air condition their homes, use electronic appliances, etc.
You claimed that we were in the middle of the biggest mass extinction event since an asteroid hit the Yucatan. That's you being a drama queen and refusing to look at all of the scientific data.I didn’t make a prediction. Simply reporting on what’s already happening and reality. But you stick to your anti science biased agenda. I wouldn’t expect otherwise.
You’re the one ignoring the science and going with the politically motivated nonsense, but that’s expected because you got nothing elseYou claimed that we were in the middle of the biggest mass extinction event since an asteroid hit the Yucatan. After a series of severe and widespread disturbances over the last decade, the Great Barrier Reef is currently in a recovery window with coral cover rising in all three regions.

After a year’s reprieve, with no major pressures from heat stress or cyclones, widespread recovery on the GBR is underway.www.aims.gov.au
Nothing politically motivated. I just listen to all sides and attempt to draw my own conclusions. I'm not the lemming here. I don't deny the data and I don't discount the notion that man is contributing to climate change. I am skeptical of apocalyptic predictions when almost all have been proven wrong. You’re the one ignoring the science and going with the politically motivated nonsense, but that’s expected because you got nothing else
You are claiming to be open minded and basing your opinions on facts but you seem to value personalities above scientific consensus. Here is one of thousands of articles published over the past 25 or so years focusing on the Earth’s 6th mass extinction. Of course that’s the one caused by humans. The prior one was caused by an asteroid and brought about the demise of the dinosaurs.Nothing politically motivated. I just listen to all sides and attempt to draw my own conclusions. I support clean air and clean water. Who wouldn't want to be able to heat and cool their home for a much lower price? Who wouldn't want to save $1,000 per year on gasoline for their car? The problem is that many of these proposals defy physics, could severely damage our economy, and do little to little to address climate change.
