Today before practice, Cael Sanderson said that Matt McCutcheon should be able to return this season, but is questionable for this weekend - this according to Jim Carlson of PennLive.com and Nate Cobler of the CDT.

I wasn't able to make it up to practice today. For those who follow football recruiting, you probably know why. If/when I learn more, I'll share

Potentially encouraging. I would hate to lose the nc due to injuries, but it has happened before and the injury bug will hit more than one team before the finals end. Keep the faith.

Cutch is one tough SOB and we have one of the best medical staffs in the sport.

Man, that is great news. Thanks for the update.
Words alone can't express my happiness - I need a GIF

Great news for that young man! Lineups for the next few weeks will be interesting.

There had been hope before yesterday's MRI that Matt McCutcheon had only suffered a sprain. I follow football recruiting, did I miss something? Surely this can't be bc a kicker committed today? You missed media day for that....c'mon man!

I thought Abounader handled Cutch without a lot of difficulty last year in the meet... would have been interesting rematch based on his improvement this year...

Your first sentence: "There had been hope before yesterday's MRI that Matt McCutcheon had only suffered a sprain." Led me (and probably others) to assume that our hope had been crushed by the MRI results. I read that and moaned "Oh no, here comes the bad news = out for the season." I don't know if your use of the perfect tense was intentional or not. But, the implication of that first sentence was ominous. Way to fake us out.

A later tweet said no tears in the knee. But acknowledged cael didn't say yeah or nay to a sprain.

Also confirmed other reports that Cutch is on crutches right now.

Silver lining in all this is that his back is going to get more rest. Less likely to give him troubles later in the season.

My bad on that. Wrote this up quickly in between a couple other things. I just took it out to avoid confusion.

from a Penn Live article posted this evening (which you can access at THIS LINK):

The Nittany Lions beat Illinois for the win, they lost 184-pound sophomore Matt McCutcheon to injury but the second win came Tuesday when coach Cael Sanderson announced that McCutcheon did not suffer any torn knee ligaments.

Sanderson pronounced him as questionable for Sunday against Michigan, and that pretty much means he's out of commission, but also said: "We believe he'll be back real soon.''

McCutcheon was injured as his left knee twisted while being taken down by Illinois' Jeff Koepke. "We thought he was in trouble; obviously it looked bad,'' Sanderson said. "We're obviously very optimistic, or excited, I guess. I think he was in some pain there and there was a good chance he was done for the year, but that's not the case.

"That's good news for us. He put himself in a bad position but nothing is torn and just a little bit of time and he'll be back,'' Sanderson said.

Yikes, C.T.!! David Hasselhoff??

I shook my head and laughed at the same time.
I stumbled upon some classic Battle of the Network Stars on ESPN Classic. Hilarious stuff - Gabe Kaplan outrunning Robert Conrad. Hasselhoff was MADE for that show! Too bad he came along after it was cancelled.

Hah.....yeah, great potential.

All those babes on Bay Watch and I always had the impression Hasselhoff preferred to look at himself in the mirror, rather than at them.

Great news that he'll be back this year. Assuming he does sit this weekend, who is going to fill in?

Looks like Brill or Van Cura.. Check dicemen99 spreadsheet above.

Thanks! I also found a Cael quote that seemed to indicate it could be one of those two, Morelli, or even Rasheed. He mentioned Hammond wasn't a very big 165 so I doubt we see him, but you never know.
