Matt McGloin

Matt is resigning his position as a Lackawanna County commissioner among rumors that he will be joining BOB’s staff at BC. The fine residents of Lackawanna County do not seem too happy with his tenure as an elected official.
I feel like ever since he got there, even if he did something well, but especially when he didn't, a good chunk of the residents were probably saying they should have elected a younger black commissioner with little to no experience in his place.

I'm a fiscal conservative and don't like to see tax hikes of that magnitude, but that wasn't Matt's fault. He was just trying to keep the County solvent. You can blame prior leadership for the mess the county is in. Sounds like a case of prior leadership increasing services and spending while not raising taxes to pay for it. Best wishes to him as he moves on.

Maybe the cost of living in that area became a quick reality check and he realized an analysts pay wasn't gonna cut it.

BS. Mcgloin played 5+ years in the NFL.

Analysts dont stay analysts forever.

Do you think McGloin's former teammates Ty Howle and Deion Barnes are suffering because they started with a low paying job?

I don't know if they struggled. Perhaps they did but understood it was a stepping stone. Boston is much more expensive than State College.

Boston also pays better than Scranton. A NFL veteran can afford a stepping stone job when it has a good chance to lead to a HIGH paying job.

He is NOT leaving because of the cost of living. He knew the pay before he took the job. He probably scouted housing costs too. He also resigned from his job.

He also knew O’Brien quite well. Dealing with O wasn’t the issue.
