MBB: Lamar Tracker

My daughter was excited her two favorite 11's were on the court-Klay coming back and seeing Lamar(11 @ PSU) play was much and as well as he did was a bonus!

Cavs have lost three guards for the season including two potential all-pro players in Ricky Rubio and Collin Sexton. They are asking Lamar to play a lot of two - guard. The real problem here is defense (which the Dubs exploited with the return of Klay Thompson. They also lost two other good guards in Darius Garland and Cedi Osman, two other top flight guard, for ten days and he's just come back for the last two. They are still kicking off the rust. Cavs are also on a five game in seven days spurt in CA and TX so it is a tough haul this week.

The son of an old work friend averages a double-double for the Cavs (Jarrett Allen). I remember first meeting him when he was 13. I told his mom to start planning for early retirement. I was right - dude making $20 million per year on his new contract. Mom is a great lady - she towered over most of us too.

he's a great kid. Great player...will make the all-star team this year.

He is having himself a game against Golden State tonight! He got the start. 6-6 with 13 points in the first half, 3 dunks, an and-1, etc. He is the leading scorer for the Cavs at the half.

He's establishing himself.
Anybody know what Tony Carr is doing now? I hope his decision to leave early wasn't a disaster.

I would joke with his mom (Cheryl) that she couldn’t wear heels since she was so tall.

Really athletic family - dad played ball in Europe, aunt was a track star at UCLA (I think), and cousin is Jahvid Best - 1st round draft pick for Lions who had to retire almost immediately due to concussions. He has some sick highlight videos from his days at Cal

The Rubio loss hurt bad, but man have they been fun to watch this year. Hoping the Rondo acquisition helps bridge the Rubio loss gap.

Personally, I'd like to see them trade Sexton. I know a lot of people are very high on him, but if you dig into the advanced statistics, he's very inefficient. I think that Garland is the much better player plus a few years younger.

No clue how he's doing, and like most PSU fans, would liked to have seen him stay, but it's highly unlikely that staying another year would have much impact on what he's doing now.

Agreed. Sexton is a scoring machine but a bit of a black hole: once the ball goes in there it never comes out. But we need a good, experienced point guard. Maybe a trade to get DeAaron Fox, Shai Gilgeouor-Alexander, or Ja Morant.

Looks like he played 3 years in Europe then played a year in the G League for the Erie Bayhawks, but they seem to have ceased operations after the 20-21 season. So his career may be over.
