One of my favorite stats of the O'Brien era: coming off of a loss, Penn State was 7-1 straight-up and also 7-1 against the spread. I reference the "against the spread" stat since it does show performance in comparison to the public expectation. The straight-up loss was the UVa game, where we frankly outplayed Virginia but struggled in the special teams.

Anyway, those stats showed something we all saw: the 2012-13 teams, players and coaches, were mentally tough.

Thus far in the Franklin era, we are 3-3 straight-up and 2-4 against the spread coming off of a loss. Buffalo on Saturday and how we respond: I'll be watching very very closely. Yesterday was a debacle but it does not have to be the apocalypse --- a second debacle Saturday and it WILL be the apocalypse.

Doesn't Michigan have a noon game next week? Gonna' be kinda' tough for you to watch so closely.

You should. With this OL, QB and coaching every game is iffy at best.

Yesterday was weird. I was the only person wearing Michigan gear at Lincoln Financial Field.
