Mercury Announces “State Media” Content Network, 6-Figure NIL Commitment & Penn State Sports Property Partnership

Mercury, the college sports company, announced today a landmark three-year agreement with Penn State Sports Properties to build an NIL-driven content network called ‘State Media’.

Mercury - which was co-founded by former Penn State All-American Tight End and current college football analyst and personality Adam Breneman - will create a series of Penn State shows and podcasts to give athletes brand-building and NIL opportunities, as well as run monthly experiences and events for Nittany Lion fans. Former Penn State and NFL quarterback Christian Hackenberg will also be joining Mercury to be part of the ‘State Media’ network.

Mercury is also committing 6 figures annually in NIL opportunities to support the Penn State football team in partnership with the Happy Valley United collective. Their deal with Learfield’s Penn State Sports Properties provides venue access which will give fans unique once in a lifetime opportunities.

"I could not be more excited to help build the future of college sports in State College," said Adam Breneman, co-founder and VP of Media of Mercury. “We’ll work hand in hand with Penn State Sports Properties, collective, and fans to create something truly lasting and bring Penn State fans closer to the program and players they love.”

“When Adam reached out to get involved with State Media I could not have been more excited to jump on the opportunity,” said Christian Hackenberg. “Getting more involved at Penn State has been a goal of mine and being able to help build something that will not only benefit the players and the program, but the Penn State community as a whole is going to be very rewarding.”

Penn State fans can buy tickets to Mercury’s first experience today - a VIP tour of Beaver Stadium which will include a locker room tour as well as field access where fans will have a chance to play catch on the field with Breneman and other PSU football alums. The event will be on Friday August 18th – fans can learn more about the event and buy tickets here.

As part of the initial launch of “State Media” content network, Mercury has acquired the “Hardcore Penn State” podcast, one of the top fan-hosted shows covering Penn State football.

Mercury will announce additional shows on the “State Media” content network in the coming weeks, including a podcast hosted by a former Penn State star.
