I don't wanna be THAT guy and saying that alone makes me THAT guy but....I think we beat USC, I've never really seen a Penn State team have this much fun playing and I think we're playing that good right now. At least in the second half. Trace is playing out of his mind and we have a certain swagger that I'm not sure anyone has seen in a long time, if ever. With all that said...we beat USC and finish top 3-4 in the country. With who we hopefully have coming back next year, and I think we'll have everyone back that has the chance to go pro, we will ranked top 10 going into next season and maybe top 5. The beginning part of the schedule sets up pretty nicely for us to be 6-0 heading into our bye week then we have Michigan after that...looking ahead to that game, when was the last time there were two top 5 teams (potentially) that played in Beaver Stadium?

Michigan will NOT be ranked. (unless they get the usual "homer" votes). They "graduate" almost their entire starting team. Harbaugh will have to "earn" his paycheck for the first time next year as the Hoke recruits leave. They most likely will be just OK next year but will get better in the coming years. Should mean some REAL equal competition in the future. PSU will have a BIG edge next year.

How much is UM losing going into next year? I've seen depth charts that look like they're losing almost everyone, but not sure if they are counting class or redshirt years for some players...

They will be ranked because they are Michigan. I'd say somewhere between 10-14.

really looking forward to some epic Harbaugh meltdowns . . . unless he goes to the Rams, of course

Heard their new kicker is supposed to be pretty good...at least that's the rumor coming out of the slumber party grapevine.

This guy? Sweet ride, yo.

This team, all things being equal, is going to annihilate Pitt. Iowa on the road could be tough. Don't understand why you don't want anyone discussing Michigan.
I tend to agree with this. The way Franklin paid back Sparty for running it up last year, it won't surprise me at all to see him bring the hammer down hard on Pitt, especially after the bus league comments the Douche made after the game. The talent disparity is only going to grow, meaning Pitt will be happy to not see PSU on their schedule after the next 3 years.

Michigan probably isn't going to have much fun in Happy Valley at night

The flip side of that is we have to go to the Shoe- and you KNOW that is going to be a primetime game too- that game is going to be a dogfight

With that in mind, next years final score:

PSU 58

Michigan 13

we'll be landing a top 3 class this year and had a top 5 last year. I have no idea how good we'll be next year and our talent will be very young, but writing us off as a definite W is pretty stupid. It's your board so do what you want, but we aint going down without a fight

I understand, BUT on paper we will be MUCH better than Michigan. That being said, you still have to play the game :)
PSU 48 Michigan 10.

BUT, from then on the teams will be pretty even on talent AND experience, some fun !!!

What position do you play?

I hope we beat USC and make a statement. But while discussing swagger and comparing this team to some of the greats of our respective lifetimes, let's not forget the first half of the BTC v. a Wisky team that's not close to USC or UM talent-wise.

The program is on the way back up and it's thrilling. And CJF is building depth and giving these young players an incredible amount of early playing time. But let's not get too far out over our skis. A few injuries on D could have us as fans reliving the experience in An Arbor.

USC won't be a cake walk and could be a loss. Same with UM, no matter how many of their starters leave. Their cupboard is stacked--partially with players they plucked from us in recent memory.

I'd never expect a team to go down without a fight (Except the Cleveland Browns of course)

Not stupid at all.

Paybacks are a BIT-----CH!

Our vey! Wisky was and is in everybody's top 10 all year.

On paper you guys should have crushed everybody this year. I guess you guys are realizing your new coach isn't what he was cracked up to be

nah....OSU had more talent than us and still needed the refs to bail them out. Iowa was definite fuk up, but everybody has those. Just like you guys with Pitt. You had more talent and still lost

Hey at least you acknowledge that you are going down

In 97 against Michigan, it was 2 vs 4.

1999 vs. Arizona. PSU was #3 in the AP and Arizona was #4.

As far as I can tell, it has happened only five times (rankings by AP):

'78 - Maryland (5) vs. PSU (2)
'80 - Pitt (4) vs. PSU (5)
'82 - Pitt (5) vs. PSU (2)
'97 - Michigan (4) vs. PSU (2)
'99 - Arizona (4) vs. PSU (3)
