Watching on replay, so perhaps i’m wrong and maybe they legitimately were sick or something. But this isn’t entertainment-it’s torture. I know an iowa starter can whoop the hell out of a michigan backup. But they have thrown in the towel after a 125 tech? What? I hope it’s medical.

Cobe! Close to desanto on effort. Ok maybe not even close desanto was a different breed.

I’m a wrestling fan #1 and an iowa fan #2. Just love seeing the sport on NTV and it used to not happen. If you guys insult me that’s fine, just understand I respect what Cael has done, but i’m not heading out to buy Penn State apparel. Nolf, Nickal, and Zain are among my favorite guys when they weren’t facing hawks.

11-2 isn’t a tech. Not even in freestyle.

please don’t. I love wrestling and praise your team a lot. Really not anti-PSU like most of HR which got me in trouble 🤷‍♂️. Just no reply and move on.

Are you familiar with who his team is?

Michigan and tOSU should be ashamed of themselves with the teams they rolled out last night. Embarrassing.

Is PSU mentally or physically beating these teams up?

Vs Iowa we got everyone except Assad after the match Iowa sat Warner, Brands the next match

Vs Michigan we got everyone. Last night missing Ragusin, Mattin, Amine,

Vs tOSU we got everyone..last night missing Karchla, Romero, Hoffman

Interesting to me

Ragusin and Amine missed OKST last weekend, and Romero and Hoffman missed NW last Sunday. Perhaps all of them missed last night because of injury?

Meanwhile, we had a wrestler skip last night because he could. So maybe we should be a little less judgy about the other schools.

You missed my point. It’s as if many opposing teams getting physically hurt or mentally hurt AFTER facing us

Ragusin got decked by Fix last week

Also..to add. I don’t recall PSU throwing duals by sitting everyone. Yeah RBY sat, we still won 33-8

Maybe I missed your point because I wasn't responding to you specifically.

But go ahead and think a bunch of D1 scholarship athletes are too frail to face other opponents after us.

It’s very clear to me (maybe not you) that after facing PSU, wrestlers from other teams end up sitting in the matches afterwards. Whether that’s a mental thing (Warner) or a physical thing.

My assumption is these other teams put such an emphasis on bringing their “A” team against PSU and putting guys on the mat that are nursing injuries. Then after wrestling it makes those injuries worse where it hurts them in the upcoming duals.

IMO. Almost better off sitting the guys nursing injuries against us and taking the L (which they will take an L regardless) and be healthier going forward to where they not sending out entire B teams against teams they can beat

Beau and SVN lead PSU with 17 matches; there are wrestlers on other teams who have wrestled 25+.

I think we will see more coaches follow Cael's lead and walk away from tournaments like Cliff Keen, Midlands, and the Scuffle. It sucks for us fans, but the season can become a real grind.

Karchla, Romero, and Hoffman are all injured to some degree. Karchla has been dealing with a knee issue for some time. Romero dislocated a finger wrestling against Brooks on 2/3. Not sure what ails Hoffman, but days ago Tan Tom indicated he was hurt and would have to go with Georg.

The Michigan/Iowa dual seems to be a different matter. I think Amine missed a couple previous matches due to injury; not sure about the other UM starters that sat out. But Michigan rolled out around six backups, so it sure seems like the UM staff knew they weren't going to win the dual and just decided to punt and rest several starting guys.

Whatever the reason, it was disappointing to watch two JV matches back to back on BTN last night. I get it, though, teams are looking towards B1Gs at this point in the season, so if that means resting guys who are just a little nicked up to be healthy for what really matters, I don’t blame them for that. For tOSU, they said every one of their starters is expected to be healthy for the tournament.

You mentioned Amine- he was hurt against tOSU. Hasn’t wrestled since.

It's safe to say that Jim Martin's 155 career wins record is safe for the foreseeable future.

At some point you draw a line in the sand between the "modern" sport of college wrestling and the "classic" era of college wrestling....in the 1950s they wrestled without shirts and headgear for christ sake 😆

Everyone deserves a day off but michigan had a decent chance to win the dual on paper.

Agree, but I was responding in part to the "Michigan and tOSU should be ashamed of themselves" comment from another poster.

The three missing staters from tOSU appeared to be sitting out for legitimate injury reasons, so Tan Tom gets a pass in my book. UM wasn't beating Iowa even with all their starters, and maybe had a couple guys hurt. But the UM staff appeared to punt and wrestle mostly subs, which made for a crappy dual.

I agree 100%. UM should be embarrassed with that effort from the coaching staff point of view.
