Michigan State, Michigan State, Michigan State, Michigan State ... Articles/Discussion

The NY Post article proves that writers from that city should stick to pro sports.
Penn State won't get into the CFP because of cupcake ooc schedule. Ohio State got in last year because they beat Oklahoma "the kind of non conference win the committee loves"
Um, perhaps he can explain Washington getting in by playing Rutgres, Idaho and Portland State with that logic

The board hasn't quite moved on from the Ohio State loss; not much attention being paid to the game vs Sparty.

I'm wondering if the team is the same way....will they be emotionally ready for a tough road game against a tough defense?

The board generally takes a longer time to move on from a loss than from a win. Just the nature of the beast. CJF had his PC today, so the focus should start to move toward MSU.

Team will have no choice. They'll be practicing today for MSU. A lot of strong leaders on the team, and a bunch of super competitive guys, so I have no doubt they'll be ready for MSU.

we should expect a very tough game. in fact even the Rutgers, Nebraska and Maryland games are going to be difficult, especially if we are not at 100%.

I'm just happy the contrived rivalry isn't our season finale.

Agreed. Driving to Happy Valley form the West in late November is a disaster!

But in all seriousness, contrived is a good word. There might be slight animosity between the two programs right now but it's been a while since MSU and PSU were both good at the same time.

Both teams are ranked right now (both lost heartbreakers last week or it would be a MONSTER matchup).

I love your run against Meatchicken. What is it now, 7 of the last 10?

Sparty's defense is well disciplined. They maintain lane assignments as well as anyone I've seen. At the risk of sounding cliché we must throw something at you you don't expect in order to loosen up that rush defense. If Moorhead does it and if it's well-timed then I don't think your offense can keep pace.

This game scares me. Up there, coming off a huge loss, noon start.

I wouldn’t be shocked if this was a 3 point game.

8 of the last 10. ;)

Yes, our run D is very tough. Our DEs due to attrition are good against the run, but they lack the athleticism to run people down in space or really get after the QB. But we are very disciplined.

Our starting two corners, Layne and Scott are good, but our safeties can be had with deep balls.

Yeah--our offense has talent at the skill positions. It's frustrating how are are unable to get points. It's mainly because our OL is so young they are having trouble with blocking assignments and opening running lanes. With our young WRs and QB, passing game isnt always clicking. but it can be dangerous. MSU is going to be lethal passing the ball in 2018 and 2019.. MSU will always try to pound the rock first. If MSU isn't able to find running room, we aren't upsetting you or OSU.

If this game starts to get up near 30 or more, MSU is in serious trouble. Dantonio has never been a track meet guy.

"coming off a huge loss, noon start"

Did MSU win an easy one last week and do they get to start at 3:30 instead of noon like PSU?

I think the team is gonna kick ass this week.

Roughly 24 hours until kIck, weather supposed to be in mid 40s all day with 25% chance of rain at 12pm increasing to 50% at 3pm.

Still, forecasts can change quickly but it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a gloomy day. How wet remains to be seen.

The rain shouldn't be too bad- more of an issue for the fans sitting around with temps in the 40s. Any forecast of how windy it will be?
