Victim's statement

"The defendant's eyes were one thing I'll never forget. His wide eyes while he was saying foul words, licking his lips, hunching his shoulders over me and then grabbing the most personal part of my body with intent to make me feel as if I had no control over my body," she said. "I had to physically shove him off of me, causing him to stumble backwards. When he got up and went to rush back toward me a friend had to once again push him back. Both of us feared he'd continue to assault me.

"While my entire body was physically shaking, I was crying. The aggressive harassment continued. He was mocking my words as I described how I felt violated to my friends. He stared me down while I was waiting for police to arrive, with his wide eyes and taunting smile. All while his main concern was to get into the bar.

"Just as police were arriving, the defendant entered my personal space yet again. Puffing out his chest, rounding his shoulders, yelling in my face. His friends felt the need to apologize for him. But the defendant has never once shown remorse through this entire process. In fact, he denied his actions to the fullest extent. Upon agreeing to this plea deal he has claims to have simply pushed me out of his way." "

What is Harbaugh's punishment? In many programs this would constitute dismissal from the team.

His heartfelt apology

After Perry's initial suspension, the wide receiver was reportedly working out with the team earlier this year.

Coach Jim Harbaugh told the Detroit Free Press last week that Perry would continue to work out with the team until his case is resolved.

“He’s preparing for the season, and he’s going to practice,” Harbaugh said. “He’s not going to represent the team in games until that’s come to a conclusion.”

Perry spoke briefly during the hearing in Ingham County Circuit Court, apologizing to the victim and to police officers involved in the incident.

The Prosecution questioned Perry's remorse.

Perry stood facing the judge during the victim's statement. Later he apologized to the victim while looking at the judge.

“I’m ready to put this behind me and continue to move forward," he said through his attorney Reynolds after the hearing.

I'm sure he was ready to put this behind him and continue to move forward five minutes after he committed the assault.

Brent Wilkerson did something similar and Franklin immediately kicked him off the team.
There was one other player, an offensive lineman I believe? This was for a fight I believe? I want to say Alosi, correct? Not sure, and if I'm not mistaken he could have been a starter as this was the first season or second season that our numbers were heavily down as far as offensive linemen.

A quick question although it probably does not matter. Is this "unsupervised probation" or regular probation with a probation officer? I believe a regular probation might carry with it more stringent enforcement? That's from a law enforcement perspective, as far as his eligibility, it would not surprise me if he got no more than a one game suspension, or three games at the most. This is clearly an offense that would get most kids kicked off the team and out of the program at most schools. Allow me to add finally, that this is Michigan, not an SEC school or a Pac 12 school or a Big 12 school. Michigan holds itself above most schools academically and in posture and ethics. We will see...

If hairball plays this kid when he's under probation for this, he'll live to regret it - until the right nfl job opens up in another year.

How many years of eligibilty does perry have? I want to know when um will separate itself from perry.

Guys I heard it first hand from Harbaugh that the kid is a major feminist and so he treated the woman exactly how he would a man and therefore Jimmy thinks he should be applauded for his courage and not suspended. Jimmy assured me he got a 15 minute timeout in which he had to face the wall and repeat "I will keep my hands to myself, I will keep my hands to myself." Jimmy is such a trailblazer in player discipline. I heard he spanks recruits on sleepovers if they don't brush their teeth, now that's discipline.

Hope he plays vs. Penn State and tries catching a pass over the middle. Marcus Allen and Nick Scott could teach him a few things about personal space. But I suspect Harbaugh will have to do something. It looks too bad.
