If it's a "money-thing", I would've hoped Franklin would go to bat for him. But, I guess, Moorhead has different ambitions in mind.

...winning the SEC;
...compete for a MNC;
...coach in the NFL.

at (gasp) Mississippi State?!? WTF?!?

Like the expression says, "Football in the North is like a religion; Football in the South 'is' a religion."

I think he underestimates the fanaticism and sheer stupidity of religious zeal. I would think recent events at Tennessee would've been an eye opener.

Good luck. He's gonna need it.

Felli, there is no way an OC is going to command as much as the HC at a place like Miss St unless those paying the OC are as dumb
as you are.

Dan Mullen was 69 and 46 in 9 seasons at MSU, he averaged 5 losses a season. MSU was quite happy with Mullen and paid him very well, one of the top paid coaches in the country. Based upon that, you could conclude that MSU understands where they are in the college football world...Moorhead continues with getting the Bulldogs in bowl games most years with an occasional 9 or 10 win season, he can stay there a very long time.

I agree. It seems like great gig to take. Fairly low pressure. MSU fans are going to love his offense. If he takes a job at a higher profile school, one year of 4-5 losses will put him immediately on the hot seat. One 9-3 season at MSU is going to make him untouchable.

Well, Mullen was at MSU for 9 years, only won 10 games once, and other than finishing second once never finished higher than fourth and he didn't get fired. I would say MSU is different than other SEC programs.

The current MSU offense is similar to what Moorhead runs. Watch one of their games, looks like PSU's offense. Plus they have Nick Fitzgerald at QB, will be one of the best in the country next year.
