Thats not true.... in the dark years, opposing players (can't remember name but may have been Michigan LB) said that they knew what plays we were going to run. If the other team knows what you are going to do, then the margin for error is infinitesimal. That's why the read option is so ubiquitous now. No matter what play/formation is called, there is still options based upon how the defense reacts.

No, I got your point, the reason we had horrible losing seasons wasn't because we didn't execute (block and tackle) it was because our plays and schemes were transparent.
