While it’s true ICE has had to redeploy resources to help at the border, it’s hardly due to ICE slacking and therefore “dealing a blow to the Trump administration’s deportation goals.” Let’s parse the article for misinformation.

Misinformation #1:
“Arrests by ICE agents fell 12% to 34,546 between Oct. 1 and Dec. 29 of last year, the most recent period for which date is available.”

Wrong! It’s not the most recent data available as of the time this article was written. Stats for the entire 2018 are on the internet See attachment below, last updated & reviewed as of 12/14/2018. This WaPo article was written 7 days ago! Which begs the question. Why did WaPo ‘cherry pick’ the last three months’ of data? The entire 2018 shows administrative arrests are up by 15,111 (or 11%) over 2017. So give Wapo four Pinocchios for selective ‘cherry picking’…

Misinformation #2:
“Though deportations by ICE rose 10% during that period in comparison with the previous year, the increase came from soaring numbers of detentions at the border—not as a result of more arrest by ICE in the interior.”

Again, why did WaPo ‘cherry pick’ the last three months when data for the entire 2018 is available. Nonetheless, let’s look at 2018 in entirety. Interior ICE Removals increased by 13,757 (17%) over 2017. So give WaPo four Pinocchios for ‘cherry picking’ the data…

Misinformation #3:
“The declining arrest numbers are a major change from the initial phase of the Trump presidency, when interior arrests rose by more than 20% and ICE officials said immigration violators “should look over your shoulder” in fear.”

Aside from WaPo openly rooting for illegal immigration, initial book-ins to detention facilities by both CBP and ICE have increased 29% and 10%, respectively over 2017. Also, ICE had 27% more initial book-ins in 2017 than 2016, and 2017 was before the border surge began. Yes? So there’s been no “major change from the initial phase of the presidency” when it comes to ICE enforcement. What has changed is the sheer number of additional book-ins made by CBP in 2018 due to the border surge. See Figure 7 of the following attachment. 2018 initial book-ins are at 2016 levels for CBP. 2017 was a nadir year for CBP because immigrants were leery of Trump. So give WaPo four Pinocchios for embellishment on “major change”…

Conclusions- 1) WaPo is full of $hit. 2) Thank God for the 5th Estate because Democrats have hijacked the 4th Estate. 3) Imagine what this country could accomplish if only its citizens weren't propaganized.

I thank you and let’s keep it real.
