Esslinger. Case of 16 oz. for about $8.00 way back when. Also Bartels and Ortliebs. A Baltimore Sun article said there were over 60 breweries in Baltimore in 1900 but only three 70 years later.
Blatz is, hands down, the worst beer I’ve ever had. Had two 16 ouncers at a college friend’s house one weekend. Got a splitting headache about a quarter of the way through the first one, finished the second and fell asleep for like 13 hours. Brutal.Blatz, Csrling Black Label, Hamms, Koehler for a few
I still drink Schmidt’s.I got a case of 16 oz Schmidt's returnables for $5 every week in grad school. Now I have drunk 3 beers in the last 2 months.![]()

Mea Culpa, I misread the thread title. Yuengling wasn't sold in any of the bars in State College in my day; Sam Adams didn't exist. Back then your had really limited choice: Budweiser was king; Michelob was popular; Schmidt's was third choice at the My-O-My. Bars only had 3 or maybe 4 beers on tap; the bottled choice was similarly limited; one of the most popular was Rolling Rock of Latrobe. If memory serves me correctly, Iron City wasn't sold here, but some places may have had it in cans/bottles.[/QUOTE

I really like Michelob Light. Tasty.LOL, a little but I still like Michelob. Although I very rarely drink it.
We are doing Guinness White Ale, and Kolsch labels at work but so far I haven't been able to find them in the store. The guy at Wine World said he thought the release date was April.
I love a good White Ale.
The BEAST (Milwaukee’s Best) and Stroh’s (pioneer of the 30 pack) were staples. Rolling Rock if you wanted to splurge, Straub refillables when money was tight.Good God man! Your taste buds must all be dead!!

I had the good fortune of not really starting drinking until I was 20 and working at a liquor store at that time so I never really drank below the mainstream beer level. Budweiser was my steady beer for those years. If I was at a bar and felt like classing it up I’d got with Fosters.
I still drink Schmidt’s.
From what I read, the original was bought out and made by another company. This company brewed Schmidt as well. Eventually, they just combined the two for marketing and other purposes. It still exists? That's the first beer I ever drank. Ugh...
