Interesting they referred to the eagle as "she". I'm not sure if they knew anything about eagles or not, but it likely is a female. While it's nearly impossible to tell the difference without taking measurements, the female is typically more docile while the male would try to bite or fight to get away. The male typically would not remain so calm being held by a human like that for such a long period of time.
