This is a cool story. Mt Union is a perennial national champion contender in their division. They are in Alliance Ohio and have about 2,500 kids, total. Larry Kehres retired as head coach in 2013 with a record of 332–24–3. His son, Vince, became their head coach until 2019 and left to become DC at the University of Toledo (Defending MAC Champion and had a first round draft pick last season). Now under head coach Jeff Dart, since 2019, this team hasn't lost a regular season game since 2005 and Dart has never lost a regular season game. They are 9-0 going into the playoffs.

On a side note, their arch enemy has been Wisconsin Whitewater. Also of note is that Wisconsin Whitewater won two national championships, both times beating Mount Union in the Stagg Bowl, with our one Andy Koteinicki. (he then followed the head coach to Buffalo and then to Kansas).

Plus, I love MAC football. last night, MoJoe's Akron Zips upset Toledo. Toledo's kicker missed three EASY FGs in regulation that led to their loss. Here, after the game, three Akron players go to console the kid who felt awful.

Obliviax, thanks so much for posting this! My nephew played football at Mt Union under Coach Kehres. Really fun experience following the Purple Raiders those 4 years. My brother-in-law and I got to see them play in a few Stagg Bowls.

I'm looking forward to watching this! Thanks again for the heads up in this.
