MSU DUAL MATCH NOTES. *There are not many common opponents above because there are seven freshmen or red shirt freshman wrestling. * MSU features 5 RSFR, 2 RSSO AND 2 SO, 1 JR, AND 2SR'S. *There are only two matches where there has been previous head-to-head matchups- Levi Haines at 174 and Carter Starocci at 184. *MSU's highest ranked wrestler is #44 Remy Cotton at 197. *PSU has an all-time record of 25-9 against MSU with the last loss coming in 2005. Although there have been several shutouts over the years, the largest margin of victory was a 48-3 win on the road in 2018. *Regarding the upcoming match Cael Sanderson has said that, "MSU is always scrappy and tough"

Davis wrestled Lujan three times last year.

This looks like a bonus point festival. I think WrestleStat's prediction of 43 points for PSU is way too low. I came up with 52 points & thought I was being conservative. Uff da, this is going to be a lot of tying.

With the potential of a shellacking by PSU, I wonder if this might be more of a work on techniques that they might be solid on for matchups down the line?

Looking at this reminds me of a story with a former partner at our law firm. After he had graduated from law school, he spent some time working for the US Sentencing Commission researching disparities in sentencing outcomes in capital cases. He told me he once came across a matter, in a district in the deep south, where the defendant actually pleaded guilty early in the case, acknowledged his wrongdoing, and was still sentenced to death. He turned to a colleague on the project and asked, "Isn't that, like, the maximum?"

Is this wrestling room forum used as much as it has been in the past? Seems like everything is old on here. Not a lot of info on matches being televised or tickets available. Is there somewhere else to look? Thanks

This is a highly active forum, both on- and off-season. Look in the sticky threads tab at the top of the page for a thread with all streaming options for duals and tournaments complete with links. Tickets for sell tend to be posted in specific dual threads.

There is not a lot of wrestling discussion here. This place provides great tips for outdoor activities, grilling, alcohol.

PSU MICHIGAN STATE HISTORY
Penn State has shut Michigan State out three times. The first came at Rec Hall in 2013, when the Lions stomped the Spartans 41-0. David Taylor and Ed Ruth both had falls; Matt Brown had a tech; Nico Megaludis, Bryan Pearsall and Quentin Wright all had majors; and Jordan Conaway, James English, James Vollrath and Jon Gingrich all had decisions.
The other two shutouts happened in East Lansing in 2015 and 2024, both with final scores of 35-0. In 2015, Matt Brown won by fall; Zach Beltz and Cody Law won by major; and Jordan Conaway, Jimmy Gulibon. Kade Moss, Garett Hammond, Matt McCutcheon, Morgan McIntosh, and Jimmy Lawson all won by decisions.
The second 35-0 win was last year. with Aaron Nagao and Aaron Brooks getting techs; Mitchell Mesenbrink getting a major; and Braeden Davis, Beau Bartlett, David Evans, Levi Haines, Terrell Barraclough, Bernie Truax and Lucas Cochran earning decisions.

looks like first 2,000 fans get bobbleheads. anybody know if this is going to be all the same wrestler or will there be variation?

If I put a bunch of words together with no paragraph breaks it will get hard to read and after maybe the first sentence you won’t even try. I could be writing the most interesting post in the history of the Internet but it still won’t matter because, believe it or not, presentation does matter even in an Internet forum. For example, I could be about to post where Jimmy Hoffa is buried or precisely where one can find the Holy Grail, but no one would know because no one wants to try to read a bunch of words and sentences with no paragraph breaks in between. I could even be posting Cael’s secret plan or the insider RUCrackers has at both Iowa and Penn State telling him about all the further NCAA Champs transferring to Rutgers, but it wouldn’t matter because your mind couldn’t pick up the information as presented in a series of run-on paragraphs. The truth is that I am DB Cooper and I did land safely with all that money. I mean some did fall out as I parachuted down, I guess I didn’t close my backpack tight enough. But I’ve been living quite nicely off the rest for some decades now. It feels good to get that off my chest. Anyway, great dual on tonight. And it’s dual, not duel; no one is trying to kill each other with centuries old firearms. Just two Big Ten schools wrestling each other is all. I think there will be a lot of falls tonight. Michigan State isn’t as good as they used to be. I wonder what Caffey is up to these days. He was always my favorite Michigan State wrestler. Is he coaching? I thought I read he was. Hey it was pretty cool seeing Nick Lee coaching the guys at the Scuffle recently. I bet he’s a great coach. I could see him taking over the program one day. Anyway thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
