Musburger is done on January 31st

He made sure that people didn't think that they were looking at a replay of the game they tuned into

One of my favorites. Informative, not biased, entertaining.

I never was a big fan and I really hated when he did the Little League World Series.

he is moving to Vegas to start a handicapping business. Pretty amusing considering many of his references to the point spread over the years during broadcasts.

I remember Jim Nantz did a bowl game years ago during which he said Paterno was without peer as a coach who combined winning with a respect for education and playing by the rules. Nantz is a good guy but, unfortunately, he has to work with Simms.

I tried to think of any of these guys that I like- and came up with nothing

I can't stand simms' voice. Of course, he is forgiven since his son was a stud, can't-miss quarterback for Penn State.

I remember Brent when he was doing sports anchor years ago in Chicago. I always liked him and enjoyed his broadcasts on the national level. He would say a few funny and sometimes controversial things over the last few years but overall he did a real good job. Liked him and Keith Jackson the best. Good luck to him.

OMG you are soooo right.... might wanna toss Tim McCarver on that ass-pile while yeraddit
McCarver was the worst. He never stfu. Minutiae about the spin on a ball hit off the end of the bat. Chris Wheeler must be his bastard son. He also suffered from stfu.

Musburger was never one of my favorites....never disliked him, just preferred others (like Jackson) along the way. He is one of the last real professionals left and for that reason, he'll be missed.

One of my favorite Brent-isms came in a game back in '88 when Major Harris' WVU squad beat the holy hell out of our Nits. Harris hit a huge bomb right before half when it looked like the Mounties would just sit on the ball...after the pass, Brent said in his very emphatic style, "Get your adjectives ready, this kid's for real!" That line has stuck with me almost 30 years later...don't know why, I just liked it.

Anyone else seem to appreciate Brent's sappiness as he got older?

I used to absolutely hate him... going all the way back to his NFL Today/CBS gig (who else remembers Phyllis George and Irv Cross?) ...

As the years passed, the Brent Musberger Drinking Game seemed to evoke a certain charm with his predictable shlock, but it eventually appeared to indicate a genuine love for his job

Nantz did a bowl game? CBS? They used to do the Cotton and Sun bowls but I can't recall any others.
