My Christmas Gift to BWI regulars - Pick out something you like

Put me down for the leisure jumpsuit.

I called. They only take Bank Americard. They also said that you're persona non grata due to that unfortunate boxer short photo shoot back in 75...

Timing is everything. Sears, Montgomery Ward, and others had the catalogs and for the time sophisticated data-logists system in place but no internet to simplify the ordering process.
Amazon would have never gotten out of the gate

When I was a kid we all mangled the regular Sears catalog's ladies bra and underwear section. Pre-pubescent porn. 50 years later all you have to do is turn on a computer.

Not only that, back then the judges had to tear them out, put them in an envelope, put a stamp on it and mail them to each other.

I was 9 years old in 75 - and I remember the incident. An accidental peek a boo. Not sure who it was that removed the page from our catalog, but couldn't talk about it at home. I remember kids laughing about it in school.

Admit it, you've still got a lot of that stuff in your closet.

I do have my massive AFX slot car layout with ass-kickin' accessorries - including all the G-Plus and classic "MagnaTraction" cars shown in the catalog :)

It's in my parents' attic - along with all the boxes of stuff I brought home from PSU when i left with my Bachelor's in 1988.... That PSU stuff is a time-capsule... Untouched in almost 30yrs

What is it doing in your parent's attic? This the season for pulling out the old Xmas treasures and setting them up on Christmas Eve.

Your boys would probably get a blast out of setting the thing up and racing. We're never to old to play with toys.

I ended up spending silly $$$ on a Carrera 1:24 Scale Digital slot car system for my two boys.... Blows my old AFX sets away!

Question. You say your gift is to "BWI regulars". Well, I usually am, but sometimes I need prune juice. Can I still get a gift?

Mrs KG would *kill* for that Chessie set of sheets.... We even had a cat named Chessie (tho she was black and white).

And I actually had that calculator when I was at Ogontz. Slid off a table onto a plush carpet (one of those ones from the 70s with the deep threads at the Oz library)--and broke. My next one was a TI.

I still have my old HO slot cars--somewhere. Wish he'd put up the Lionel page. Still love those old trains (and my set *is* up in our family room).

LOL. There was a thread a couple of days ago about best Christmas Presents and that Electronic Mattel Football game was on it. I never had one but my friend in school did and we played that thing all the time on the bus and study hall. This may be why as a 52 year old man I can text better than some kids. My thumbs were already conditioned for it. ;)

That hand held Matel Electronic Football game was, dollar for dollar and within it's day, the best Christmas gift I've ever received. I feel sorry for the kids today who get bored after a week with the new xbox, playstation or gameboy game. I played that game for years....

The best gift ever! My brother and I played that thing constantly. Unfortunately, we only got one so we fought over it daily. The following year we got handheld basketball so we at least each had one to play.

I had the basketball game "BasKet" and loved playing that. I remember playing it while ND ended UCLA's winning streak on winter day. BTW, I want that turntable!
