I was hoping that there would be a little watering hole secret shared before I see the grey haired lady.

Enjoy your first match, PABulldogs. Safe travels to-and-from, and enjoy the wrestling atmosphere inside Rec Hall. It is special.

I appreciate the great insight. I’m not much of a during match yeller although I do like to do the after match celebrating. I’m about to get on the road in about 29 minutes thank you all.

You know the match is at 5:00 pm. You will have a fair amount of time at the watering hole pre match. That said, Penn State will be wearing blue and white.

Have fun today.

My watering hole opens in 30 mins, or as soon as I finish shoveling the driveway . . . Or while I'm shoveling the driveway, if that ends up making me really thirsty.

Whiskers is jammed before a dual, so getting there 3 hours before the dual starts is the best way to make sure you can get an adult beverage.

Oh and the guy that yells stalling when it pin drop quiet, is a good dude and it's ok to laugh at him.

My section definitely laughs at him. We also have a policy that if you yell "stalling" too early, you have to leave. :D

Dont forget about "beep, beep, beep" guy. He's pretty classic, and his "beep" game is outstanding.

Wait, come to think of it, that might be the same dude. I'll have to research that.

Overdressed for the shoveling. Watering hole now ***officially*** open. Just in time for VaTech-Cornell and Illinois-Blackshirts.

And if I may add, if you are bringing a kid with a high pitched voice that sounds like he is yelling from the Nittany Lion statue, ask him to do it once or not at all. ( do I have that correct? Once is OK ? )

Arrived in State College around 3:30pm. Headed straight to the wrestling room. Got a look at both teams working out before weighing in. Around 4:00 entered Rec Hall bought a hotdog, and blue gatorade. Walked around the hallway looking at old team pics hanging in the hallways. Spoke to an event staff member and got the complete run down on the Rec Hall tradition.
From the 125 match to HvyWt matches were solid in the first period. Rutgers seemed to play the edge a lot and have very little movement on bottom in general. The PSU crowd did not hesitate to call stalling.
My favorite matches of the evening were 133 keeping his composure and getting the OT win, 184 Brooks getting the takedown to cradle pin. HvyWt scrambling like a lightweight and ending with the pin. All in all the PSU squad came out with a lot of fire and dominated in all positions. After the duel being able to go down on the floor and watch the student athletes socialize was an added treat also. So that was my first experience in RecHall and many more to come.
