Penn States current Strength and Conditioning philosophy is PRIMARILY about Strength, Speed, Agility and Conditioning... THAT might be a good philosophy for WR's RB's, TE's, LB's, DE's and DB's... BUT, we need a NEW philosophy for the OL's and DT's... a philosophy based on MUSCLE MASS, STRENGTH, SIZE, and POWER... and it MIGHT take a NEW S&C Coach to accomplish it quickly (i.e. Next Year) !!

Strength, speed, agility and conditioning are GREAT... BUT NOT for the OL and the DT's... THEY need to START as an athletic and agile underclassman... in the 6'4"-6'7" and 280lb. range... AND THEN... concentrate on MUSCLE MASS, STRENGTH, SIZE, and POWER... THEN coupled with their god given athletic agility... to end up as 320-330Lb. linemen, who can FORCE their WILL on the other side of the Line of scrimmage... or at LEAST come close !

I've seen for many years now that we are JUST not big and Powerful enough to compete with the SEC teams for example... AND OSU and now Michigan in the B1G... because THAT is THEIR philosophy ! WE always seem to be 20-40 lbs undersized, and SOME years have been able to hide it with depth and rotating players in and out... but THAT is more a BAND-Aide than a philosophy... WE SIMPLY need to get BIGGER on BOTH sides of the ball !!!!
