YES, that would be 11-1! I don't think we will do any worse than 9-3 with potential losses to NW and MSU. If you want to discredit me, wait until the season is in progress, because your guesses are as good as mine Right Now!

What's your pedigree? In other words, why should we take your predictions seriously? I'm not trying to insult you, just trying to see how much faith to put into your prognostications. Right now I have little faith in yours and I'm looking to be very happy with eight victories.

I say 9-3. We lose to OSU and Michigan State, plus one other like Northwestern or Michigan.

It's Memorial Day weekend:

I say 12-0 win the playoff game over Flirida State and the National Championship over Alabama.

Hack wins the Heisman and decided to come back for another shiot at NC and Heisman

Franklin wins Coach of the year in the conference and nationally

The NCAA publicaly acknowledges they lied about Joes involvement in the Sandusky debacle and are forced to make public apologies for the entire season. All BoT members of Nov 2011 resign in shame.

Those are my predictions.

Dream big people.

Dream big people? Nah, I'd rather dream gals in the pictures you post! :D

I believe we will be "favored" in 10 of the 12 games. So IF we win the ones we should we would be 10-2 :)
OL, OL, OL, OL, OL, OL ?????????????? If they improve by about 25%

Isn't unbridled optimism the fun part of the off-season? The joy of being a Cubs (or other such non-traditional winner) fan is that magical "what if" that comes before the season begins.

I confess to being one of those pathetic fans who looks back on a loss and plays "what if" but never at a win. I know I should be more objective, but too often I am not. I see last year's games as being a "what if" we picked up a few 3rd/4th down and <3 to go? "what if" the refs actually called the OSU game fairly? "what if" Bell is healthy for NW? and so it goes

Yes, I very easily could play the "what if" game for our wins, as well. But what fun is that? It's May, and flowers are blooming, lawns are growing, the sun is shining and Penn State hasn't been stuffed for a 3-yard loss on 3rd-and-1 yet. So, I say, go ahead and look at the season in a "what if" light. Outside of the Buckeyes, who are apparently entering a Pete Carroll-USC glory era, we can compete with 11 opponents eyeball to eyeball.

"what if" the OL really does get better?

"what if" Paris Palmer adds 25 pounds over the summer?

"what if" Saquon and Andre are as dynamic a duo as Enos and Harris or Lydell and Franco?

"what if" Nassib really turns up his game as a senior the way Michael Haynes or Rich Milot did?

"what if" Joey Julius actually does put every kickoff into the end zone and kicks FGs at an acceptable rate?

"what if" the Aussie punter tops 40+ with 4 second hang time consistently?

"what if" the 3 Lbs play as a unit so well that they negate the loss of Hull?

I think 5 of those 7 are realistic possibilities. If so, while we could lose to a number of really good Big Ten teams or even to SD State, a positive answer to the "what if" questions could net victories over them, too. That's the joy of pre-season. There will be plenty of time for reality once Temple shows it can hang with us for 60 minutes. Until then, it's 11-1 for me.

That is a ridiculous easy schedule so I think anything is possible.

Given what the NCAA did we REALLY need this "easy" schedule. Keep in mind we had a close wins with Rutgers and Indiana, and close losses to Illinois, Maryland and Michigan. I REALLY think we will "substantially" better this year. Have to "think" the OL will be better as well as the WRs, plus Hack's second year with Franklin. Defense will be as good and deeper. Another plus is that 3-4 of the Big 10 teams we play will have first year QBs.

That's the spirit Option Bob! What if we struggle. but still win all the OOC games? What if we also beat Rutgers at home (which we will) and go into Columbus @ 6-0? What if we lose a close game to OSU. but play our best game of the year with the OL starting to gel and Hack with his receivers gelling as well. What if our D is strong enough to beat the rest of the B1G teams we play while the O strengthens? What if we finish the regular season at 11-1 and make a major bowl game and win? What if......we remain Penn State proud and start to EXPECT a win every week again?

Sounds close to what I thought. But all dependent of how the line develops. My guess 10-2 or 9-3 losses to ohio state and Mich state and northwestern. Finish 2nd in east make either a major bowl or what ever cap 1 bowl is called these days. 2016-17 national champs as I predicted on btn live last fall

OL, OL, OL, OL, OL, OL ?????????????? If they improve by about 25%

The problem with the "favored in 10 games" theory is that we could be heavy underdogs in 2 games and only 60/40 favorites in 3 or 4 others.

Last year we won close games vs. UCF, Rutgers, and Indiana. Those could have easily gone the other way. We also lost close games vs. Illinois, Maryland, and Michigan. You could argue that we win two of those if Haley doesn't fumble KO and also the Michigan game if Franklin didn't run a fake FG on 4th and 12.

I think the OL will be about the same. More experience and depth but lose our best player. Remaining offensive positions should be slightly improved. A lot will depend on Hack and the coaches giving him plays where he can be successful with limited time. The defense will probably be a little worse. We lose our best player (Hull) and both DEs. Special teams could be a wash. Ficken will be tough to replace and I'm not convinced that the punters will show much improvement. We do have more players available at other positions and that should help.

6-6 last year might improve to 8-4 this season if we can do a little better in close games. It helps that team like MD, Rutgers, and UM have new QBs. That would be good progress. 9-3 would be great but might be a little optimistic. Time will tell.

Worst case 7-5. Best case 10-2

Overall TONS better than last year.

Too early to predict, I'll wait until August. Hopefully no serious injuries...

It's hard to know how good this team will be until we have a better handle on the offensive line and the kicking game. I see these units as the keys to the season, along with avoiding injuries to Hackenberg.
