My Two Bold Predictions regarding the Big Ten

Michigan is not going to lose to OSU. It wouldn't surprise me if it didn't turn out similar to our game, but a little closer in score.

I would love to see this.. The Big Ten would be left out of the playoffs.

You mean the SEC Invitational?

The "Playoff" is a complete and total joke. I would love to see Alabama have to match up with someone like Washington State, the best kept secret in the NCAA. But because the fix is in, they'll be able to dodge them and play someone more familiar in their own backyard.

If the Big Ten gets screwed again, after our Bowl game, bring on College basketball where they crown a true Champion and hockey!!!!!

I hear this every year. Is there one concrete example of this? Because I can name a few where trhe conference has hurt PSU.

Would your prefer PSU be in a conference with teams that are routinely in the CFB playoffs, or looking in from the outside? I dont see any downside to having as many BIG teams in the playoffs each year as possible. Hopefully PSU ascends to that level.

Well, the ACC only has one team that’s worth a pinch of shit and it hasn’t really hurt them.

Again, I understand this basic concept. Never once have I seen it benefit PSU. The last two years, if PSU has one less loss they are in. Two less (so far) this year, they are in. The most important thing for PSU is to win games. The "weaker" Big10 will not hurt Michigan this year if they win out.

Michigan State will beat Ohio State at home next week

Ohio State will beat Michigan

Agree with your first part. Not so much the second part. This actually, as much as it makes me puke to say it, might be Michigan's year.
At least in the B1G. They will get trucked in the playoffs. Despite getting our asses handed to us I was not that impressed with their offense.

I hope tOSU survives the BIG and maybe even gets in the playoffs as it will be fun to Watch Bama absolutely destroy them and Michigan will keep their streak of NEVER making the conf. championship game in tact.

I am now rooting for Wazzu to upset the CFP Playoff Apple Cart. No better man than Mike Leach to churn the stomachs of the SEC and CFP committee.

I hope some day the true story about what happened to Leach at Texas Tech gets published.

I'm just going by the history of how many times this game has screwed both schools out of a Championship game

Not having a team from the B1G in the playoff would hurt us as it would cost us a bowl slot in a better bowl game. Not that it really matters, but to me it does. I want no worse than the Outback or Citrus on NY Day.

Now THAT is a Championship game I would watch (or actually any Championship game not involving two SEC teams). Washington State has a huge, mobile OL, receivers that have hands of glue, a QB that reads the field maybe better than anyone I've seen, and believe it or not (re: Leach), a really good defense and running game!

They SHOULD be undefeated, but were hosed horribly at USC. On a neutral field, without home cooking, they would tear USC apart.

Alabama hasn't been tested against a team like this yet. That is why Conference Champs only would be exponentially more exciting. It would force a sheltered team like Bama out of it's comfort zone. And keep politics out of it as much as possible.

Actually a "STRONGER" Big Ten will HELP Michigan (or us if we were in the same position). Wins against Texas, Iowa State, and TCU trumps a loss to Kansas by lowly Rutgers. Even with one loss, ND gets in ahead of Michigan because of the head to head. That puts Michigan in a likely fight with Oklahoma or West Virgina for the final spot. The Big Ten's record against the Big 12 may be what helps get Michigan in.

Can you imagine Leach at a press conference along with Saban? It would be like Blutto and Marmalad from Animal House doing a press conference.

And this helps PSU how again?

You mean the College Football Master$? Build a stadium near Agusta National and have it all in one area, the sports destination.

I was responding to your quote: ["The "weaker" Big10 will not hurt Michigan this year if they win out."]. I guess I just took it for granted you would be able to figure that out. I was obviously wrong.

OF COURSE [" The most important thing for PSU is to win games."]. I didn't think you needed further clarification on that point. Again, I was obviously wrong. So if it makes you feel better..... Yes.....we need to win games.

I don't think picking MSU to beat OSU is all that bold tbh. I don't think OSU is all that good this year, they are one dimensional with a QB that isn't all that mobile. They can be contained by a good defense.

UM should beat OSU on paper, but in that rivalry game who knows what will actually happen. I wouldn't mind seeing UM vs. Bama in a playoff game but honestly I don't think anyone in the B1G is good enough to compete and do well in the CFP this season.

Worth noting that if/when NW wins out, they're going to be in the B1G Championship game. The West essentially only exists to play spoiler.

Since you are clearly intellectually superior, why can you not figure out that none of the scenarios with who wins the rest of the games this year helps PSU in any future year. If ND and UM both end up with one loss, the Big10 will lobby hard for UM, even though they lost the head to head matchup. Delaney will argue how important the conference championship game is again, the loss to ND was the 1st game of the season, etc. This does not help PSU, it helps Michigan. I would expect no support from the Big10 if PSU was in the same position. In fact, I have seen just the opposite happen. So again, I have no reason to root for the Big10 in any games from a pro-PSU perspective. You may have a different opinion, and that's OK. I will not call you names. But I asked for any evidence/past actions to back up you claim, and still have seen nothing.

Having a team or teams in playoff contention is what makes power5 conferences different than group of 5. Recruiting, presseason rankings, bowl placement.

Ohio State will beat Michigan
MSU beating tOSU would not surprise me. Playing at home, Ohio State beat Minny 30-14 and Nebraska 36-31. Not very impressive scores. We all know about their blowout loss at Purdue. That leads me to your second prediction..................no way in HELL will they beat Michigan!

So....... let’s say UMich wins out, goes to the Final Four, and wins the MNC.

Aside from it being a huge boost to UMich’s profile and recruiting...... :) ....... and making it that much more difficult for PSU to beat UMich...... how exactly does that help PSU?

Never said I want them to win it all....lol. The good news is that JF said he was going to take PSU to the elite level. I'm sure he will figure out how to get PSU there.
