Navy coach thrown overboard

Not that long ago Navy was in its' modern heyday...the wagon fell off the wheel quickly. The loss to U of Delaware torpedoed him.

Hopefully he can retire on a nice government pension and enjoy the fruits of his labor. I imagine he and Ed DeChellis k ow each other well....tough place to coach and win.

Top notch guy. He ain’t hurting but the academies have much different priorities than any place else. Who knows. It ain’t all about wins. Navy’s loss vs. Army was embarrassing. Crazy game but Army had two plays all day on offense.

Wonder if their next coach will tun the option. My entire life I’ve associated the Academies with the option. Was bummed when Ga Tech moved on from it. Realistically I don’t know how you win in D1 with 260lb lineman unless you’re doing something really contrarian.

I believe the AD said that they would try to find a coach who would do so. AD knows it is not realistic to recruit as P5 teams do and thus they need to be unconventional.
