Ok all, next Tuesday the NCAA will announce the venues for 2019 through 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships, along with over 400 other venues for most D1, D2, and D3 sports.

For wrestling only, what are your 4 guesses. Mine are;

2019 - St. Louis
2020 - Atlanta (Philadelphia/Nashville/NYC, are my 2-4 picks for year 2)
2021 - St. Louis
2020 - Oklahoma City

Hopefully Phila !!!! Fingers crossed....

They will definitely have an eastern city for at least 1 of the 4.
Pittsburgh not hosting it recently (has it ever been there) seems criminal. If the city has bid for it and not gotten it, that's ridiculous.

I love all the Midwesterners praising St Louis. Well, yeah, it's a 4 hr drive at most for most of them. I'm an Eastern Pa boy and tend to favor Philly, NYC, DC, but Pittsburgh has it in spades over St. Louis. High time Nationals goes there.

How did you guys like Omaha? It was the worst one I have went to. I'm sure some of it was outside factors, but not a fan of the town at all.
It was ok for my group Real close. U are right not much down town Omaha. We stayed across the river in Siou City,Ia and hotel was connected with the casino and we like that. They had a shuttle that took us to and back from the Arena.

I am always surprised by the love for St. Louis. I think the general area of Scottrade is decent at best with the Busch Stadium area being nice. I was told by someone local that the NCAA is requesting a major upgrade to Scottrade to continue to give St. Louis the championships. Not sure that is true but I would believe it considering the difference between arena's it's been held in the past few times other than St. Louis.

My guess would be St. Louis, Detroit, Philly and OK City. No idea on the order. I know everyone (myself included) hated Detroit but that was because it was in the Palace which is no where near Detroit and had no restaurants, hotels, or ANYTHING really near the arena. Detroit now has a brand new arena in the city. Kansas City is also a possibility as they also have a relatively new arena in the city, as opposed to in the old stockyards like the Kemper was when NCAAs were there in 2003.

Las Vegas has ZERO chance in this go around. That may change and it sounds like there is very real possibility of making the season a 1 semester sport with NCAAs mid April, but that won't happen until at least 2022-23 season.

Of the top-6 attendance marks all-time, St. Louis has the top-3, and 4 of the top-6. Others in the top-6 are Philadelphia and New York City. St. Louis has hosted 7 of the last 14. History suggests 2 slots for them in the next 4-year cycle, and I'd be shocked if they didn't get at least 1.

Des Moines had the lowest attendance in the past 10 years, and while there were plenty of tickets at the arena (scalped), fan bases from all schools complained because of reduced school allotments. Don't see them returning here.

If we think about all fan bases, and not just our own, 1 western venue, 1 eastern venue, and 2 mid-country venues seems appropriate, imo. East coast fans made out really well this past cycle, with St. Louis, NYC, St. Louis, then Cleveland.

Remember, this is first-and-foremost about money. If a Pittsburgh, or Nashville, or Atlanta, or whoever doesn't get it, it's because in reference to the total package ($$$'s), they were out-bid.

Oh, and whoever suggested Boalsburg...I'm all for it!

Overlooking its decaying infrastructure, minimal amenities and terrible heroin epedemic....Johnstown could be pretty cool.

Move it to late April. Point Stadium to host. War Memorial as a backup in case of rain. Carlton Haselrig Grand Marshall. Every PSU pin worth a complimentary Coney Island growler. Bomb squad on the hillside for every PSU win and/or Iowa loss.
Lets do this. Full court press.

Ken Chertow's house in Boalsburg is available. :D

Remember what Roar said about $$. NCAA decides on bids based on where they make the most money. St. Louis obviously knows what they are doing since they keep getting NCAAs. They are also one of the few large cities with a scheduling advantage as they don't have an NFL and an NBA team.
