I can't believe this is a real story. But it is.

"The most egregious of all is they reportedly paid an Ohio State football player directly to be an "insider" for them. This player was injured at the time of this agreement, so the university and the football program found it very odd he was watching film with his teammates on the side of the ball he did not play. Once Ohio State found out about it, the player was kicked off the team."
 
So if they paid him for NIL and he just gave them info for free everything would be hunky dory?
