So Brisker is 6-1, 210 pounds, Hamilton is 6-3, 183 pounds, and Cine is 6-1, 180 pounds. The linked article says Hamilton is "hands down the best safety in the draft," and "covers far more ground than anyone else in the draft." Perhaps. But how effective is he as a run stopper?
But my question is, what would you consider the ideal weight for an NFL safety? Seems to me that both Hamilton and Cine are pretty light, at 180 pounds, to be playing safety in the NFL. That surely helps with their speed and quickness, but they are routinely gonna have to tackle guys who weigh a whole lot more. I think Brisker, at 210 pounds, is better suited to the rigors of the NFL. My guess is that both Hamilton and Cine will pick up at little body mass over the next few years.
Thoughts?
