Weather was fine, a little chilly at the the end of the game but I've sat through far worse...sometimes
in August and Sept.
I have no idea what went on with the opening kick off but the entire start of the game and the pre-game just seemed out of sorts.
It took about a 1qr. but the defense figured out what RU was doing in the run game and shut it down for the rest of the game. Kudos for either Pry making the adjustment or the players waking up.
Brandon Smith was a little rust to start but played really well the rest of the game.
Don't really care what happens with Bowen. Maybe he should move on to open up a schollie.
Cabinda came up big and had a really nice game.
DE's still need work.
Secondary looked good but RU's pass offense isn't even High School good. The QB is flat out god awful and they have no Wr's.
Trace had a real nice game. He had WR's wide open all day. He could have taken his pick of any 2 all day long.
Besides Barkley's amazing ability he is just a special young man and player. 9 times out of 10 any player that was getting the pub and Heisman push he was and has had the last 4-5 games he's had he would be pouting and causing problems. Not Saquon he just wants the team to win. And its because of his unselfishness and freak like ability that allows the rest of the team to succeed. Class Act.
WR's were superb. Open all day and didn't drop anything.
The OL. Well it kind of got better but its not good. Gonzo had a horrible first half. Was better in the 2nd but honestly he had nowhere else to go but up. Chasz Wright is probably playing at about 80%.
He just can't move laterally and INMO needs to lose about 15 lbs in the off season.
Not really sure what the answer to the OL is. We need to see them all healthy before any conclusions can be made.
I thought the staff did a good job. Pry made the adjustments and the D played really well. I do wish we could come up with some new blitz schemes. Everything seems to be delayed and up the middle.
What happened to the corner blitz from the start of the season?
INMO JoMo called a nice game. We had new wrinkles. I hope everyone loved the pistol cause enough people were asking for it. I thought is was ok but would like to see more actual runs out of it.
Also I'd like to see some more opportunities for Barkley on the outside.
All in all I'll take a 35-6 win every day.
On to Nebraska.
