He says the team saved $70,000 by having them stay in their rooms the night before a home game, instead of checking into a hotel as most teams do. That money now goes toward nutrition. Coaches arranged for players to eat out together around town. It helps them meet people in Las Cruces, and the players have put a hurting on the buffet at the Golden Corral.
