UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Oct. 5, 2016 – A total of 28 Penn State football alumni are populating the active rosters of 20 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com will provide updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.

Top performances from Week Four include linebacker Nate Stupar, who made a team-high nine tackles and recovered a fumble that setup the game-winning scoring drive. Wide receiver Allen Robinson had a solid outing across the pond, catching a touchdown pass in a win over the Colts in London. The Cowboys-49ers game featured three Linebacker U alums. Sean Lee had a standout 10-tackle performance for Dallas, while San Francisco’s NaVorro Bowman made eight stops before going down with a season-ending injury and Gerald Hodges had two special teams tackles.

Adrian Amos (2011-14), FS, Chicago Bears

Bears 17, Lions 14

Amos made a total of seven tackles (six solo), helping the Bears defeat the Lions.


NaVorro Bowman (2007-09), LB, San Francisco 49ers

Cowboys 24, 49ers 17

Bowman made a total of eight tackles (seven solo) before suffering from a season-ending Achilles injury in the third quarter.


Kyle Carter (2012-15) TE, Minnesota Vikings

Vikings 24, Giants 10

Carter is on the Vikings’ practice squad.


Jack Crawford (2008-11), DE, Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys 24, 49ers 17

Crawford started against the 49ers and made one assisted tackle.


Garry Gilliam (2010-12), T, Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks 27, Jets 17

For the fourth consecutive week, Gilliam started at right tackle. He helped pave the way for Russell Wilson to throw for 309 yards and three touchdowns.


Christian Hackenberg (2013-15), QB, New York Jets

Hackenberg was inactive for Week 4


Tamba Hali (2002-05), LB, Kansas City Chiefs

Steelers 43, Chiefs 14

Despite missing two practices during the week due to a hand injury, Hali make three tackles (two solo) against the Steelers.


Chris Hogan (men’s lacrosse 2007-10), WR, New England Patriots

Bills 16, Patriots 0

Hogan started in the game against the Bills, his former team, but did not have a reception for the first time this season.


Gerald Hodges (2009-12), LB, San Francisco 49ers

Cowboys 24, 49ers 17

Hodges made special teams two tackles.


Mike Hull (2011-14), LB, Miami Dolphins

Bengals 22, Dolphins 7

Hull saw action on special teams.


Jesse James (2012-14), TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers 43, Chiefs 14

James made two catches for 15 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Chiefs.


DaQuan Jones (2010-13), DE, Tennessee Titans

Texans 27, Titans 20

Jones started and made a season-high three tackles.


Austin Johnson (2012-15) DT, Tennessee Titans

Texans 27, Titans 20

Johnson was inactive in Week 4.


Sean Lee (2005-07, 2009), MLB, Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys 24, 49ers 17

Lee made a team-high 10 tackles, including nine solo, and one for loss.


Jordan Lucas (2012-15), CB, Miami Dolphins

Lucas appeared in his second career game.


Michael Mauti (2008, 2010-12), LB, New Orleans Saints

Mauti saw action on defense and special teams.

McGloin did not play in a win over the Ravens.

Norwood made his third start of the season and caught two passes for 25 yards, including a 21-yard reception, and returned two punts for 12 yards.

Was inactive for a second consecutive week due to a triceps injury but is expected to return this Sunday.


Paul Posluszny (2003-06), LB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Posluszny made seven tackles and 1.5 sacks in the Jaguars’ first win of the season. The game was played in Wembley Stadium in London.


Allen Robinson (2011-13), WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Robinson totaled five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown to lead the Jaguars to their first win of the season. The game was played in Wembley Stadium in London.


A.Q. Shipley (2005-08), C, Arizona Cardinals

Shipley started at center and helped a pair of Cardinals quarterbacks combine for 325 passing yards.


Donovan Smith (2012-13), OT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Broncos 27, Buccaneers 7

Smith made his 20th consecutive start.


Devon Still (2007-11), DT, Houston Texans

Texans 27, Titans 20

Saw his most significant action of the season, making three tackles on defense.


Nate Stupar (2008-11), LB, New Orleans Saints

Stupar played a key role in the Saints dramatic comeback win, recovering the fumble that setup the game-winning drive. He also made a team-high nine tackles in his second start of the season.


Ross Travis (men's basketball 2011-14), TE, Kansas City Chiefs

Steelers 43, Chiefs 14

Travis was targeted once in loss to the Steelers.


John Urschel (2011-13), OL, Baltimore Ravens

Raiders 28, Ravens 27

Urschel saw his first action of the season in a close loss to the Raiders.

Wake saw action in the loss to the Bengals.


Trevor Wiliams (2012-15) CB, San Diego Chargers
