No this is like when a Blizzard is coming and the first school district closes the night before, everyone follows as not to look like they don't know what they are doing. Then you wake up and there is no snow. And now they can say if it doesn't get bad this is why. If that's the case get ready for this to be the norm.

Now we'll be able to hear Chambers tell his squad "all 5 of you stand still outside the 3 point line and act shocked when the pass is stolen, the prayer 3 doesn't go in, or Stevens can't finish his 1-on-3 drive. Everyone will blame Mike Watkins. Readyyyyy ... break."

Look, what else are they to do, think about the potential lawsuits if a bunch of people catch this thing at stadiums. I agree, its sensational, but lawyers run this world.

I am now starting to think this thing is really gonna be bad. praying for everyone.
Dr. Fauci testified today that it will get worse.

Earlier today, the Warriors announced that their next game would be played in an empty arena.

St. Patrick's Day parades are cancelled in major cities. Coachella postponed.

There will be more of this. The B1G will probably ultimately decide on empty arenas, it seems to me. (If they have not already.)

However, the good news that we an take from these event actions is that serious people are taking serious steps to mitigate the damage to public health.

No. It is not like that at all.

After CBI cancelled, I am shocked NCAA and Nit are still even going to happen.

Way more money involved... NCAA Tourney brought in over $1b in rights fees last year... yea.

Also - gotta think this only benefits Penn State. They been used to playing in a soulless mausoleum for years now, so should feel right at home! /s

If a bunch of people catch the virus at arenas, we’ve got a lot more to worry about than lawsuits. I guess some people won’t take this threat seriously until they or someone they know dies.

So now we know that PSU will play in Tampa in round one.

Like when the Steelers came once in 8 years and Ben was suspended.

Or how they predict a hurricane will make landfall for years...it doesn't or it weakens a few times so people get lazy and complacent and all of a sudden they are stuck riding out a monster storm with no power and electricity. They then get on camera and swear they will never do it again and they had no idea how bad it could be.

It cuts both ways.

Will be interesting to see if this translated to more or less viewership. Could actually increase fees if tied to eyeballs. Then again, they may have arena penalties that offset.

What a bunch of crock. How in god’s name will anyone prove where they got it. It’s not lawyers who are making these decisions.

I know for a personal fact that the big east had many discussions with their counsel and team of attorneys about whether to keep the big east tournament as is, in NYC. If you dont think lawyers are involved give your penn state degree back to the school

Yep. The threat of lawsuits is about to shut this country down.

The negative economic impact to these cities FAR outweighs any potential health crisis to the fans actually attending the games.

Common sense alert. If you are over 50, in shi++y health, and you are afraid of getting CV-19, DON'T GO!!!

Exactly.

Wow. NBA suspends it’s games after player tests positive.

Heard a media type comment that it was all about the fact that locker rooms are close quarters.... Obviously didn't play BB as the playing of the actual game pretty much results in every player on the court being close enough to any infected player that enters a game. And with fans being courtside, a few feed from the court, together with evidence that the virus can travel 15+ feet, an infected player could infect a good percentage of the fans as well. But then again it seems that eliminating large gatherings of people is about as prudent a way as there is to slow the spread....

Maybe so, but please don’t categorize that POS Mark Emmertt in with respectable people
