The 2016 Alumni Council election takes place May 10-31. Nomination forms and election details are available on the Alumni Association's website. The details can be found athttp://alumni.psu.edu/council/elections. According to the bylaws, nomination forms are due back to the Alumni Association by January 15, 2016.

Alumni Association members who are interested in being elected to Alumni Council in the upcoming election can download and submit the nomination form. Candidates may either be self-nominated or be nominated by a third party. Additional information about eligibility and the nomination process can be found at the link above.

If you are interested in running for alumni council, please know that I cannot endorse you or campaign for you (Alumni Council rules) but I am happy to discuss the current nomination process and/or Council members roles and responsibilities. Remember, those new bylaws do not allow for nomination by petition of the membership. You will have to be approved by the Nominations Committee. Don't be shy about your qualifications, particularly your service to Penn State after graduation. Do you recruit? Do you mentor Penn State students? Are you active in your local chapter?

The 2016 Alumni Council election takes place online, and the results will be announced on or about June 1. Ballots and voting instructions will be emailed on May 10, 2016, to all alumni members for whom the Alumni Association has an email address. If you are a member but not sure that your email address is current, please check so that you will be able to vote.

Let's Roar.

There are members of this Board that I believe would make excellent Alumni Council members and I hope some will consider a run. Of course, I am encouraging others to act when I have no desire to do so myself. As Milton said, "They also serve who only stand and wait." I suppose I am one of those. In any event, lets hope that each new election brings more and more people of quality into positions of leadership. Thank you Deb, for you continuing efforts.
