Nordin left between Saquon and 6. A classic jump cut and a straight arm that knocks Nordin on his backside. That is a scene I'd love to see on Saturday (among many others)!

Nordin does not kick off, he only does field goals this year.

Dave, I thought I noticed this during the Indiana game, thanks for confirming. What surprised me is the kid who kicked off was "only" kicking it to around the goal line, which may give Barkley the opportunity to return a few KOs. I would have thought Nordin could kick it deep in the end zone.

Foug kicks off for UM and he can easily blast it thru the end zone. However, he kicks an unusually high ball on kickoffs and intends to keep the ball in play so that the opponent has to run it out. Whether or not UM adopts this approach with Barkley remains to be seen, but kicking it out of the end zone is no problem for him.

Thanks Advan for the scouting report. I figured this kid, Foug, must be pretty good if he is kicking off over Nordin.

You guys are getting worked up over a kicker?

And yes, I know he committed to PSU first, but....a kicker?????
It's one thing for a 5* DE with all the talent in the world to make a spectacle of himself. It's another for a kicker.
But I otherwise share your sentiment ... a kicker??????

Ceasar, the reason Foug kicks off is because he kicks the ball so high that when the kick off return player catches the ball, the defense running down the field is near the 20 yard line.

This has worked many times with the opponent starting around the 15 - 20 yard line. I agree that Nordin can kick it further, but up to now the strategy has worked out pretty well.

However, Barkley is pretty dam good at returns, so we will see if UM changes their strategy.

There is zero chance your kicker is being told to keep the ball playable on kickoffs against Penn State. He'll pay if he does.

Everyone makes fun of kickers (e.g. why waste a schollie on a kicker) until you have a kicker that sucks.

Disappointed he won't be doing kickoffs. Maybe the guy who does kickoffs pulls something in warm ups!

Right. Was all for the schollie for nordin. And I agree on the value of a kicker, but the kid was pretty full of himself and became a spectacle. The spectacle was unique in many ways. Part of that is much ado over a kicker. It’s a rarity, don’t you agree?

Haha, has he raped anyone and sent an offensive lineman to threaten the victim?

Good grief...completely unnecessary. You just lost all credibility to ever complain about someone bringing up Sandusky.

SANDUSKY SANDUSKY SANDUSKY SANDUSKY! All week long! Thread after thread, from twisted Jerbots(pedo enablers) and from Michigan soreasses anticipating the karma coming to them this Saturday night.

Ole Jer is the topic du jour once again.

I find it interesting that somehow Nordin is automatic. In fact, he is not: He's missed two field goals this year.

naa, I want to see the Michigan kicker headlocking Barkley like some sort of Jerry Lewis scene,
while Barkley runs down the field for six without missing a stride.

Won't happen. Kicker will be prone on the field, missing his jock strap.

Exactly. If you want to get fired up about a scUM defect it should be Lavert Hill...he is showing some serious potential.

We will go right at him Saturday night. Just like we went at Adoree, just like we went at Ohio States two NFL corners last year. No fear. That's Joe Moorhead, that's Trace McSorley, that's PSU.
