With what we saw the last few years, I wish he was enrolling this summer. I saw some of his video and he clearly can punt far and with direction. I almost can't wait till he gets on campus already.
Offering a scholarship to a punter signifies that the staff is feeling good about our 2016 class and the team in general moving forward. This addresses a problem area and I think it's a great get. Our punting has been atrocious the past few years and this will go a long way in strengthening our special teams. With what we saw the last few years, I wish he was enrolling this summer. saw him kick against our high school team last year, he has a very live leg, ball comes off high and long, especially compared to average high school kicker/ punter. Our team had typical high school kickers and then this kid knocks one high and deep and its like "wow did you see that kick"With what we saw the last few years, I wish he was enrolling this summer. Ask Buckeye fans if they value a good punter. They've had some really good ones recently and owe some close wins to those guys.I'm excited too. A good punter is very under rated. You have to be able to flip the field. Start ripping off high, booming, twisting rainmakers, and it really gums up the opposition return game.
Don't worry about the class rating. Only the highest 20 count, so no-stars or the odd 2-star sleeper prospect do NOT drag down the average. What I don't understand is why the top punters and kickers don't get 4/5 start ratings. His commitment has hurt our average recruit rating on every site that I checked. If he is the number 4 ranked punter he should be a 4 star recruit. Right, who cares as long as we get a good punter. But it still makes no sense,as special teams are very important.

Awesome get! One need down, couple more to go!
Btw, im guessing Quinn Nordin is headed to UMich then?
I thought Quinn was a field goal kicker, not a punter.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken, but perhaps what the poster meant was that only the highest 20 players count for the overall rating, but every recruit in the class affects the "average stars" rating. Either way, though, because we don't have 20 recruits yet, every recruit (including the lower-ranked punter) will count for both the overall rating and the average rating. Also keep in mind that even if some SEC schools have bigger classes, their best 20 are still very highly rated, as well. Can't say I believe that only the top 20 count. Then why do the large SEC classes get rated higher on all the ratings services I have seen? PSU's avg player rating dropped 2 pts on 247.
