Not sure if already noted, but the Vegas line had Minnesota a 5.5 point favorite.

Heard talk about that on sports radio this AM. Not one person mentioned that taking a knee is far and away the obvious thing to do in that situation though. They talked as if the Vikings staff knew the spread and were purposely playing with it. Perhaps creating drama where there is none?

Oddly though, Vegas didn't benefit from this. There was more money on New Orleans.

They did, however, benefit from the game winning TD because there were a lot of people who had the Saints at +5. Push rather than a loss.

Do you go to the Sands for the food?
I have been to the Sands, twice. First time was to Emeril's, with my wife. Second to buy chips for my degenerate gambler(his words) 88 year old Dad, as a gift. His hobby is Baccarat.

I'm not a gambler either, but I go over on occasion. Wife and I ate at Emeril's Italian place (is that even there any more?). It was meh. We may put $20 in the slots and walk away with $25. Can't stand the smoke, even in the non-smoking area.

My family owned a bus company for 22 years. Ran to Resorts 6 days a week. I was there, twice. We sold right before PA got casinos. Perfect timing. My Dad goes two or three times a week, with my one brother. He's spending our inheritance. LOL! I'm glad, because we still have him.

Interesting on the bus company. I'm sure you read about the scams a few years ago where people were making a living riding the bus from NYC to the Sands. Never understood how they could make that work.

Took a knee on the extra point. Whoops.

My friend has a friend of a friend of a friend that knows some guy on the Vikings that says he swears he overheard the HC say that AFTER they score the WINNING touchdown with no time remaining, they're going to take the knee on the PAT because the HC laid a MILLION dollars on the Saints +5.5.

TRUE STORY.

Tangentially, I thought the Saints showed a lot of poise in coming out to satisfy that ridiculous rule. I probably would have told them where they could stick that rule, if I had just lost a game in that manner.

Also, BTW, feel horrible for that Safety. I recall a relief pitcher (Angles?) who never was able to come to grips with giving up a late inning HR which cost his team a WS appearance.

The Chinese pay to ride to the casino. The get a food voucher and money voucher. They eat for the day, then lots spend the day wandering the south side. They pocket the money. They take "baths" in the restrooms. They make do with less, generally. They have killed geese and put them under the bus for the ride home. They once, confirmed by a security guy, killed a deer, gutted it, chopped it up and tried to take it back with them.
Now, the best part. The buses come to the Sands twice a day. 2 buses each time. A Chinese woman is paid $5 per seat, to sell all the seats. The buses are full. 55 passengers each bus. That's 220 x $5, to the woman. She then charges $5 to each person on the bus, to hold their seat. Don't pay it, get out. She will blacklist you. So, she makes $10 per seat x 220. Seven days a week. Do the math on that. Half , at least, tax free. She drives a Benz. America. What a country.

Yeah, to both your points.

All I can say is ...unbelievable. Sorry to hijack the thread.

I counted eight Saints on the field which isn't against the rules. If the none of the Saints wanted to come out they could have had the Vikings snap the ball with no defense on the field and they still would have taken a knee. What was the NFL going to do? Make the Saints forfeit?

Are you sure? I believe the announcers said that they had to go into the locker room to get Saints out for the snap. I recall several running out of the tunnel that led to the locker room (but could be wrong as I was watching from a nursing home while visiting a family member for the game).

You are correct about the players coming back out. At the time of the snap however I counted only eight Saints lined up on defense. I doubt one of them was Drew Brees but I did see him on the field afterward congratulating Vikings players. Kudos to him for hanging around that long.

I agree that the count was eight. And one of them was the punter that was hurting all game.
Really strange rule to be required to do a PAT in regulation but not OT.
