I am so sick of hearing the word prestigious. I wish recruits would see past all that hoopla and BS and realize they are just another school. Now I could understand places like Stanford and Harvard. Why, because it is proven a degree from those schools will earn you more money. Obviously what field you go into is different. But does a basic business degree from ND earn you like $35,000 more a year, than Penn State degree? Same degree, two different schools, both schools you are required too complete so many credits and whatever else. But one is more prestigious than the other? I just dont get it.

Does the fact that ND's tuition is more expensive than Penn States, mean its more "prestigous" I would really like to know why this place gets viewed as like the center of the universe of college football.

ND would never get the hype they get regarding football, if their nickname was not the Fighting Irish. If the were called the Notre Dame Bobcats, or something of the sort, they would not be on TV nationally nor be anywhere near as famous. Irish Americans seem to really love there heritage and their great ancestors they never even knew. Nor have most of them ever stepped foot in Ireland. And why if they are the so called Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Are they represented by a cathedral in France. Nothing about there tradition jives and is totally fake to me.
