Number one in the class in 2022 flips from Florida State to Jackson state

You gotta wonder what would make a kid with that talent level want to compete at the FCS level?
Very interesting. Jackson State is one of the largest HBCUs. Perhaps he is more comfortable going to an all black college. Maybe he wants to help an HBCU become a major success. Maybe a way to get instant playing time, transition to college life in a comfortable environment, and then portal to one of the big boys in a year or two.

Anything is possible. It's just odd and makes you wonder. For as long as Rivals has been doing recruit rankings, I doubt an FCS school has ever gotten a Top 100 or perhaps even a Top 250 recruit, let alone the #1 rated kid...and he flipped from an 18mos commitment to FSU on signing day. It's all just very peculiar.

Girlfriend!💃🏽

What is to stop a very rich person from making whatever school they decide they want to be one of the best be one of the best? If you were a billionaire and you wanted, say, Jackson State to be one of the best school in the country, couldn't you just throw so much NIL money at the best high school players in the country that they'd go to Jackson State (as well as giving Jackson State a lot of money to build training facilities, etc)?

Probably not a lot stopping people anymore. The quicker this stuff goes crazy the better chance we’ll have for normalcy some day.

Deion Sanders works with Barstool. DS coaches Jackson State. Barstool pays $1-1.5M NIL deal: I don’t think this is super hard to figure out.
As I mentioned above, I don't get it. What difference does it make to Barstool who the kid signs with? OK, they pay Deion and I see the benefit for him but I don't see what's in it for Barstool. I could even see that they would be better off if Hunter did better with a higher profile school. How does the NIL deal swing him to Jackson State over any other school?

I have a feeling it will become evident by next season......

You just mentioned Barstool twice in a post. Would you have done that if they paid the kid to play at Clemson? No, no one would care, it would just be a regular last minute switch that is uneventful.

I've seen a bunch of posts/comments/references on this move on any site that talks about college football. As a result, Barstool has been mentioned a number of times all over. It puts their name/brand out there. It also helps their client Deion. You'll probably get some mention or advertisement image for Barstool on highlights for Hunter next year. This is exactly what Barstool wanted - viral marketing.

Quite interesting.

Well, they actually

JS has a pretty solid recruiting class (all the better now). DS is 15-4 as a coach and being courted by power 5 schools. Meanwhile, the 166 pound kid is wondering not so much whether he can get open or cover power 5 receivers, but wtf is he gonna do when 5'10 230 of locomotive (like Georgia just got) is headed his way and he's expected to stop the train. Good freaking luck (and you know he'd be starting for fsu at maybe 175 next year... but at fsu, he avoids georgia lol).

The kids he's likely to encounter will not have the same physicality.

So you take the $1-1.5M, get schooled by one of the greatest of all times, get bigger and stronger, then portals to wherever DS goes. By year 3, he's physically and mentally ready to roll into the nfl. I can only imagine how easily he was persuaded by Deion.

THIS is the new cfb and i doubt many of us old timers are going to like it... at all. Thankfully I spent the better part of 60 years watching the real thing... aside from psu. not much else matters. It's all a shitshow (not that we aren't, but we're still MY kinda shitshow lol).

A big part of this is hero worship. Deon still shines bright in the social media, hype world that reigns over that generation. The article says he has gotten multiple four and three stars to play there. Personally, anyone that wants to play for that narcissistic ego maniac deserves to go there. And that’s good for the other teams as it will weed out a lot of hot dogs more worried about their own brand instead of being a team player and help the team excel.

I agree. It is like BB players going to unc and bring in awe of Michael Jordan’s jersey. I don’t get it. They never saw him play live or on TV.

At least with Deon he is their coach and I can get the attraction.
