During an interview this week with Tucker Carlson, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said his indictment was political payback for opposing the Democratic Party line on illegal immigration.
"Many people dismissed when we stated that we felt we were a target," Adams said. "They wanted to dismiss that. And then you heard the president state that his Justice Department was politicized. You heard the incoming president state that it is politicized."
"I think that there were those who were in that orbit that felt I was not a good Democrat, because I watched my city go through an onslaught of the migrant/immigration policy, the failed border policy," he said.
