My NYC trip will be during the Pitt game. I'll be staying at the Kimpton Muse in Times Square and according to the NYC Alumni chapter the closest places to eat, drink, watch the game is the Proper West Midtown (39th & 6th) or the Mercury Bar Hells Kitchen (9th ave).

Anyone what to chime in on experiences or alternatives?

Thanks in advance, its greatly appreciated.

Tonic East (411 3rd Ave & 29th Street) has the reputation for the most enthusiastic/fun TV viewing parties in NYC. It's not a big place, so you have to get there rather early to get a good seat.

Have fun

Tonic East caters to the below 30 alum, then you graduate over to Proper West. Both fun, but definitely different

Is Proper West "proper"? I'm over 30 but still want to have a great time in public watching the game.

It certainly gets rowdy, but most people are at tables. Tonic everyone is smushed together standing which makes for more fun
