Know a bunch of you have been to St Louis several times for wrestling. May be going there. Had a question about walking in area say between the Union Station, Busch Stadium, Arch area. I know always need to be vigilant, however was wondering on thoughts between walking in that area during the day, before a game, after a game, etc. Or should just consider Uber/Lyft after a game just to be safe?

Thanks.

During the day, no problems. At night, in a crowd leaving or going to a game, no problems. Metro stops are relatively close to all those locations, as well.

I was going to the Soulard section of STL twice a week for over a year with a friend and didn't have any worries in the high traffic business areas. I would only worry if you are alone or in a very small group off of the beaten path.

I live about 20 miles east of STL.

My trips to St. Louis were all pre Uber/Lyft and the Metro was my best friend for all of those locations. In fact, because the Metro extends to the airport, we never needed a car during any of our stays.

Walked through there tons of times for wrestling, including this March and no issues.

Been there a few times for work. Downtown during the day is OK. On the way to the stadium, note where the crowds pick up -- that'll indicate where they'll dissipate on the way back. (Note, I haven't been there since the virus hit, so "crowds" may or may not exist for your trip. Check with your hotel.)

Between Union Station and the riverfront, Market and Chestnut St will be the safest and most pleasant -- open spaces, more people, with a city park in-between. Clark is more direct to the stadium, but is the loading dock side of the Market St bldgs.
