If it wasn't for McSorely running we would have trouble scoring any points in a game. WR's literally cannot catch, totally overrated O line. I can't remember being more disgusted over a win.

Can we fire our special teams coach now?

You're discussing the offense. The bright spot of this game.

Had to of been under 100 maybe less than 50. They at least got him out of the backfield on a wheel route but it was also blown coverage.

Get rid of that ridiculous lateral shuttle pass to Sanders!

The D is soft and weak.

Thank goodness for the turnovers that were gifted to us and IU's horrible clock management at the end of the first half, otherwise it would have been a L.

Sanders strength is not east/west. He is a strong north/south runner. He has good straight ahead speed and runs downhill, but does not have the lateral quickness to get to the edge.

Then why does he continuously try to do so?

They also seem to like to try him outside on Polks side. He can’t block any better than he catches. Made no sense he was manhandled every time and sanders got jammed up at the line. Coaches all day was baffling.

It is a play calling and O line issue with Sanders. He is a stud, a step slow albeit but then don't put him in position where he needs to outrun a fast corner or safety to the sideline corner. That is on the coaches.

Can we run a screen pass up the middle? Polk has to be put to 3rd string, just pitiful. The TE Friermouth? Is solid and CAN catch.

Need to see Parsons make more plays, he dropped a pick.

How are we going to defend Iowa's 2 TE's?

The play design. Last year Barkley had to stand flat footed in the backfield and count 1-Mississippi 2-Mississippi after the snap before getting the ball.
I disagree it’s the play design. There are many opportunities for him to plant his foot and get upfield and for some reason he tries to take it outside. That’s on him, not the design of the offense.

I don't think he made the trip. He is not on the Participation list or in the game stats, and Journey Brown got a carry.
The announcers said he made a tackle on special teams towards the end of the game. It's possible they mistook him for nick Scott though

Honest question - are they redshirting Slade? Saw Journey today but no Slade.

Not sure I’d burn Parsons for that. Ball unexpectedly came off the receiver’s hands and he couldn’t corral it. Far different than a number of other misses the D has had this season.

Sparty showed everyone the blueprint on how to handle Trace - spy him and keep him in the pocket. IU had him hemmed a few times but wasn’t quick enough and let him escape. But one thing that bugged me was that the routes were too long for the high crosswinds. Passes are gonna be less accurate the further they travel in those conditions. When Trace got flushed or knocked down at the line, I’d look at where the receivers were and many times they were 20-25 yards down the field.

Notice how our receivers almost never come back to the ball ? Maybe that’s design. It sure hurts us at times.

Most of the time Johnson is lined up by himself on one side of the field and Trace doesn’t even look his way. So the others are operating in a tighter field of play with DB’s and LB’s bunched up. Scheme is not effective most of the time unless the TE can get down field. Frustrating to watch.

Yeah, CSB needs to be getting the majority of snaps over JJ. We need a lot more production out of the position.

After watching Thomas return that KO, I was wondering why he doesn’t get more snaps.
