A huge congratulations to @Brazillm10—he correctly predicted that Penn State would prevail 35-7. @Brazillm10 is the first member to nail the final score this year and for that he gets the TLD Guru award for his efforts—what is the TLD Guru award? Not sure, just sounded good to me as I was writing this. Seriously, way to go @Brazillm10, that was one heck of a pick. We have a few honorable mentions this week but none so honorable as @Bob78 as he also correctly predicted that we would win by 28 but he wasn’t quite the guru that @Brazillm10 was as he called for a final of 45-17. Our last two honorable mentions this week go to @cpn1sgm (41-10) and @MontereyLion (42-17) as both came within 3 points of the final margin of victory.
Now it’s time to make your call for our, on paper, toughest matchup to date. It’s a night game at Iowa and as has been mentioned adnauseum on here, Kinnick is a tough place to play… but “been there, done that” comes to my mind and as such, I expect this team to show additional improvement as we defeat the Hawkeyes in spite of it being a home night game for them and they’ll be wearing their alternate, all gold, uniforms. The unis will be the only thing coming up golden for Iowa this upcoming Saturday evening.
“Sound the air raid sirens, it’s Clifford Time” (that’s for @tgar)- he’ll go over 300 yards this week and this time Penn State will not stall on offense and our defense will continue it’s spectacular play as they shut down an outmanned Iowa offense. Cain will show why he may just be the no. 1 back for the remainder of the season and Parsons will come up with at least 1 big play on defense to help the Nittany Lions win this tough matchup. The turnover margin will flip to our favor, too.
My final score prediction? Penn State 31 Iowa 10. I just don’t see Iowa being able to move the ball all that much against our defense—I’m sure the commentary will be harsh this week so my bold prediction is that we’ll see far more folks calling for a Penn State loss this week as compared to what we did in previous games, especially Maryland. I know, not all that bold a prediction, probably better to say "predictable". I'll especially be interested in @AngryOtter42's pick
I look forward to seeing everyone’s picks this week- I’m truly curious what you all think will happen.
