Oh the memories....Joyner.

Forgive me, I'm on a Joyner rant at the moment.

See link which is his Wikipedia page.

I didn't previously know about his time as Chairman of the US Olympic Sports Medicine Committee and the doping issues (Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones, Men's Relay Team) under his watch.

This is nothing new

It has always been known the Joyner was going to stay on as an "adviser" to Barbour.

Barbour took over Aug 18, 2014, approximately 8 months ago.

Do you recall the university ever saying how long Joyner would be an "advisor"?

There was a time Corbett, and another BoT henchman whose name I can't remember were getting 600K and 300K respectively. That may have been the Hershey School. That's another one that should be telling. It's also just scratching the tip of the iceberg. This is chicken feed compared to some of the other stuff these guys are hooked up with.

I wish I could get a chance to make some big bucks through connections, inside information, and no vote sweetheart deals.

Let's do this by the numbers.

Barbour an AD for ten years and a sports administrator for 30. Joyner and AD fro 2-1/12 years. She needs who as an adviser?

I think our boy now is listed as an advisor to President Groundhog

likely assisting Baron with his Freeh fact-checking promise.

Someone who has the ability needs to change the comments Re: JoePa

in the Wikipedia page because they are misleading.

After his term on the BOT and subsequent placement in the role of A.D. my understanding is that they agreed to keep Joyner on payroll until he reached enough years to be pension eligible. I'm not sure what that date milestone is. Pension plans are on line. Also not sure which pension plans were created and when (recently vs. older).

The pension angle still burns my ass. Joyner must have been a failure at his day job if he needs to mooch off the university so he can get a pension. Who the hell does he think he is anyway and why does he think he's entitled to a sweetheart deal like that?

What kind of God awful advice couild Judas give SB? He has what 2 years experience? He was given the job to ensure the athletic department would be intimidated into submission during the Freeh Inquisition. He ruled with an arrogant attitude fueled with the knowledge that Ira had his back. Joe kept his ass away from the fb program for good reason. He is a creep.

Fester may finally have found his life's calling.

Designated ass-licker.

He must have a level of pride equal to absolute zero.

Saw a show on NOVA (?) a few months back....detailing the scientific work involved in approaching "absolute zero". Some really interesting applications that are enhanced as we approach that point (some real "Stephen Hawking" level stuff).

Maybe science could be advanced by using Fester's personal integrity as a proving ground.

Thank you Ira Lubert!!!

th

Seriously though, the fact that these ass-clowns (PSU "leadership") would so blatantly squander PSU resources to provide this scumbag with a lifetime pension would be - if it were the only outrageous act they perpetrated - enough to raise the roof. Alas, with this crew, it is just one of the myriad daily examples of FUBAR they commit.....to the point were most of them just get swept aside in the backwash.

Until he qualified for a lifetime pension

Seriously. Not a late April Fool's joke. They actually said that at the time.

It is troubling that the A.D. job was not posted and a national search not conducted once the immediate need for an interim person in the role had ended. At least to my knowledge there was no such process. This is common practice for other roles.

Of course he was a failure at his day job. Just ask some of his former patients. As I said numerous times before, orthopedic surgeons in Pennsylvania make three times what he was making as the AD. And he was in financial difficulty. If he needed money, the way to do it was not to change careers.

But if your living expenses are zero because Ira lubert lets you sleep on

His couch, you're making bank. Yes, the athletic directors at a major division one university was an unemployed bum living in a friend's couch. And since he was unemployed, said bum was given the job of athletic director with zero qualifications. And once fired, well, not fired, since he gets to stay on the payroll until he gets pension, he also gets to be on the board of the penn state medical school, he original profession at which he failed and went bankrupt with. Roger Williams fails to mention your alumni association fees are paying to keep this loser afloat.

Joyner must be very, very good at one thing:

sucking Ira's dick. At that, he is a true gold medal Olympian.
