OK, I know this is the wrestling board BUT...

There were cuts Barkley made in this game that made me like football again. And that hurdle late, especially coming on a 3rd and 6 where had he not hurdled would've brought up fourth down... That was an all-time performance last night, probably put him way out in front of the Heisman race.

Absolutely unreal. Josey Jewell had an outstanding game at LB, but more than once Saquon juked him so badly he looked like a 10 y.o. boy trying to tackle him.

A combination of speed, power, instinct and vision, the likes we've never seen.

We are so lucky to have him!!!

One great hurdler about another...

Oh, and do you suppose that Panek girl is like, "Yeah, I taught him that."

Agree with all of the above....and a big kudos to the Hawkeye fans at the game. What an atmosphere, and what a game , that place was jumping. Visiting Iowa for a football game and wrestling match are now both on my bucket list.

I watched Barkley play in high school on our local cable company probably a half dozen times and could tell he looked pretty special. A few times in highschool he went over the top on goal line situations and you would of thought he was the reincarnation of Walter Payton. He has the ability to cut laterally like Barry Sanders and the breakaway speed of Tony Dorsett .
He is a freak.

I took my son to PSU football camp this year (i think i posted about this before, if I did bare with me). We are on the field at the Beav and before the camp starts all the players are out, throwing, jawing, stretching, etc. Barkley was mobbed by the little guys as you might expect.

So I gave him his space. But then Franklins wife came over to take some pics and talk. crowd cleared away and so I took my opportunity to talk to him. He was so nice and open to talk too. Like I met him before, just so welcoming. Which again as a fan boy, im really surprised that he wasnt turned off. Im taller than him and probably bigger in the shoulders, but his legs are as big as my waist. Again just a great representative of the U.

He signed my sons football, posed for multiple pics and was just great.

Trace was great too. He was mobbed too and signed stuff for us but we had used a lot of time with Barkley.

Juwan Johnson was very talkative and poked fun with my father (he has big nose) and Juwan "poked" him in his nose having fun. Dad said he was now his favorite player and last night my 76 yo dad nearly had a heart attack when the big guy hauled in the game winner. he called me today to talk about it again. we've going to psu football games as season ticket holders since 1981. seen all kinds of games, but last night touched him more than I saw before. might be the winding clock on his ticker or just the relation that he has in his mind for JJ. 30 secs of JJs time made that old mans year. last night just capitalized it.

JoMo was absolutely the greatest. He and my dad talked for probably 20 minutes. if it wasnt 20 min it was 30minutes. Talked X&Os, talked life, met his son, and he took pics of our family. My father was like a teenage girl at TS concert. JoMo is the kind of guy you sit next to at the bar, and talk about anything going on. His son looked young like either 5 or 6th gradeish. well mannered and Im sure has stood next to his pop many times as he has talked to people.

Franklins daughters were there and his wife as I said was there. All super nice, but they had more of an itinerary and were being pulled in multiple directions.

As exciting as the game was, the brilliance of Saquan and the resolve of the teams in both uniforms something else caught my eye. We at PSU have the Dance Marathon to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund and to see "The Wave from the fans to the children's hospital from a perfectly positioned view tells me that the people from Iowa are not too dissimilar from us as the various forums might indicate.

Forget the bench, Mark Rippitoe says the clean is the truest measure of explosiveness. This kid is amazing. Saw this clip a couple years ago, he was probably only like 19 years old. Holy cow.

Overall, I thought it was an entertaining game but that Penn State got away with one. They dominated both sides of the ball, but failed to convert too many scoring chances and had a few glaring lapses on defense. That said, they did pull it out, to their credit. But they need to tighten things up a lot.
